Can someone give me with a step by step guide on how to upload the music on the phone? (I don't have the removable memory yet) I've been trying to follow the steps some members posted in the v3m sticky but it still won't work.
Maybe it has something to do with the "Found New Hardware" when it is tring to install software for the "motorola v3c". It says it cannot install this hardware because wizard cannot find the necessary software. Please Help?

BTW I have the Music Essentials Kit

Does the software you are using have the updated driver on the cd? You may have to go to the distributers website and see if there is an updated driver for the v3m

This is reproduced from the V3m thread but that's getting kind of long and you may have missed it -

Subject: How to correct syncing issues with Motorola V3m and Music Essentials Kit

If a customer is having difficulties syncing music after installing the Music Essentials Kit (ex. Sync Failure, Device not recognized, etc.), the following steps explain how to correct this issue.

Have the customer install the drivers that come with the disk.
Have the customer turn off the phone off and then plug it in to their USB port.
Go to Device Manager (on the customer's computer) and make sure under Modems it says Motorola USB Modem (it may have a number after it).
    Leave the phone off.
    Go to <http://promo.motorola.com/exe/mtpfix.exe>
When the Window pops you will get the options: Open, Save, Cancel, or More Info. Choose Open.
Once the file completes, Power the phone back up.
Open Windows Media Player and Select Sync Music option on the phone under Get It Now>Get Tunes and Tones.

Thanks dude...you saved me haha. I loaded up my phone at work by installing the DriverTool.exe file only. Once it was installed as modem, i hit sync on phone. and it self-installed mtp to transfer. That was windows xp pro, not sure if it matters.

here at home however, i wasnt so fortunate. it took me over 4 hours to get it synced on my laptop runnin xp home. again, dont think it matters, but maybe? xp pro seemed to have the goods.

ditto on having the phone off being the key..and possibly just running the files, instead of dl'ing them????

    anywways, ty again

basicallly bluephoenix, i had the same issue at first, all i did was went to the fix dl, dowloaded it, saved to computer, extracted, ran, and then plugged usb cable into direct computer port, then went to sync on phone, then plugged usb cable into phone and it would pull up a little mp3 player looking logo and ask what i wanted to do, i always click take no action and then go to WMP10 and make a playlist then go to the top tab sync, and it finds the device, sometimes it might lag hit F5 to refresh and it will recognize the phone and bam sync it (it will then go through the conversion process :)

hope this helps, i think its in simple terms...if not just call verizon, they are pretty helpful if you get to the right dept!

restoration of the pc shouldnt change it, unless your system rolled back the drivers to fix the error...hmmm

Yes, I am having the same issue. I did get it to Sync for one song after repeatedly trying it again and again! I have the device manager open in a separate window and keep seeing that the USB Motorola Modem keeps coming and going. There's a window of time where the phone is recognized and the sync function works. It almost seems like the phone is trying to be charged instead of acting as a SYNC operating phone. Anybody have any luck, or any suggestions? I have a vc3M and windows XP.

I got bitpim to get data from my phone and motorola phone tools gets info from my phone but when I send ringers to my phone from bitpim, I can't find them on my phone. also I can't get my laptop to recognize my phone as a portable device; so I don't know what to do, I've read through everything I've done all the fixes and nothing. The closest I got was when I plugged in my phone a window would pop up on if I wanted to open up a program like it was recognizing it as a portable device but about a second later it would all go away so I couldn't do anything. And if I press sync on my phone it trys to install mtp on my computer and then the driver in device manager says no driver installed. And then once it does that the motorola usb modem isn't there anymore. I'm so lost and I know a lot about computers, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks! I have the newest updated motorola phone tools,I've tried it in all my usb ports, I've ran the drivertools, mtp fix and all that stuff, I've rebooted a ton of times, and it's been two days and no luck! Thanks in advance.
