Some of you all have read about my rants recently about the crappy 3G phones that Cingular has been selling. The CU320 was the first and I know some of you have also had bad experiences with it. Well, I am currently on the ZX-10. I had already exchanged it once. I am strongly considering getting rid of it because of what I believe to be insufficient battery life for that phone. It is a 3G phone, video phone, MP3 player, and a phone. One would expect it to have a long battery life but, it doesn't. There are some issues with weird messages popping up on the screen and longer call dialing/connecting times which I have found out to be a problem with the ZX-10's communication with the 3G towers in particular. Those problems aren't present with the 2G towers. There is a updated software version for my phone but, Samsung and its infinite wisdom can't tell me what issues this new version is supposed to address which makes me wonder if it's worth sending my phone to Samsung to get my phone reflashed which Samsung told me will take 15-21 business days excluding time for shipping both directions. So, I am deciding between the Moto L2 or the V557. I was looking at the L2 because I had the V551 before and wanted to try and get something different. Does anyone have any input on whether I should get the V557 or L2? I would appreciate any comments or whatever. Thanks!

I'll add my :twocents: hehe. The v557 is a good solid phone so you can't go wrong there, i'd pick that over a L2 or even a razr is a great phone. But, if you like candy bar phones then why not go with a slvr instead of a L2? Not to mention the slvr is newer. :)

Thanks for your reply. However, after some thinking, I decided to go with the Sony Ericsson w600i. It doesn't use 3G but, has all the features that I wanted to keep from my Samsung such as MP3 player, etc.

It is a WCDMA phone. You can't expect good battery life on it.

I've had my v557 since the beginning of April. Love it.

The LGCU320 batter life was fine. It just had problems with signal. My thoughts on the ZX-10 were if they are to have a mp3 player, video player/recorder, 3G, watching the TV thing on the phone, the batter should last a decent amount of time. To me it's common sense. At the very least get a extended battery out for the phone. Samsung said they weren't sure about the extended battery.
