Ive had Verizon before but now im ready to go back to it again. The two phones im considering getting are the LG Chocolate(VX8500)

    and the LG The V(VX9800).

Both i think are awesome phones but i cant decide between the two. Both of them have a 1.3 megapixel camera and play mp3s. But the chocolate has only around 60mb's of memory while the V has 128mb's for songs. And the V has a full QWERTY keyboard while the Chocolate is a regular letter by letter/number by number pad. Even so,the Chocolate is a little more slender and has an always-cool slider feature. The Chocolate goes for $150 while the V goes for $200. I just cant decide between the two,so please help!

Ok so i just read another post about the LG VX8300 and its sounding like its better than the chocolate. The only thing i dont like is that its a regular flip phone which is kind of boring, but even so it still looks pretty cool. So which one? The VX8300 which is $70($120 with 1 year contract, which id probally go with) or the VX9800 for $200? Btw heres a pic of the 8300

I have the VX8300 and i LOVE it. It plays MP3's, has a good camera w/ a flash, loud clear speakerphone, loud ringtones, great reception, easy to navigate, large buttons, very customizeable, and very attractive. I spent a week researching every Verizon phone currently available and this phone won by a landslide. (Of course not counting the blackberries and phones like that).

the LG chocolate doesn't have speakerphone, nor does it have a flash with its camera. And what is its big advantage? Its an MP3 player. But the 8300 plays MP3s too and is cheaper!

the Motorola Q has a ton of issues with the keyboad locking up. I've heard from everyone that owns it they have to restart the phone mutiples times a day to keep it working.

Not sure if that's just the chocolate or all VZW LG phones, but the chocolate's reception really isn't all that great, even though the camera is awesome.

O ok cool =]. Well im thinkin either the VX9800 or the 8300. Im kinda leanin towards the 9800 cuz it does all the same as 8300,plus it hasa QWERTY keyboard and i DO do alot of text messaging. Plus the look of it is pretty cool. But we'll c,the 8300 has caught my eye before so its a possibility :D

i wouldn't have picked any of those phones because it think it is nice to AMPS backup and all of these phones are all-digital........but i would go for the 8300........i like the way it looks and one of my friends has it so i got to test drive it......its like all of the other Verizon phones because it has the branded UI but.......

between the Chocolate and the VX9800 i would go for the chocolate

i like bulky phones like that ones that Nextel offers......but Nextels phones are more Squarish....the VX9800 is rounded off and smooth and simple.....i tested out the chocolate in the VZW store and i really liked it

I was shown the VX9800 AFTER I got the V3M. I would have preferred the VX9800. The reception, for me at least, has always been outstanding on the LG products.

My spouse used my LG VX600 while her V3m was on backorder. The reception was better than the V3m no matter where we went.

Oh, well, back to an LG in a 11 months, unless I can come across enough to get the VX9800.

The V (9800) has a ton of problems with the keyboard locking up. Most everyone has to restart their phone multiple times a day to get the keyboard working again. I have long thin fingers and I even find it easier to type on a regular cell phone than that itty bitty keyboard. (I sent and receive about 1,000 text messages a month, so one could probably say I'm an avid texter. I seriously can type SO much faster using T9 text on my 8300 than on the 9800. Plus, it got so annoying when I was in mid-text and the keyboard locked up and I had to restart the phone).

Before purchasing a new phone about 2 weeks ago, I researched every phone that works with Verizon service. I used 4 different websites that review phones, I used 5 different websites with reviews of actual customers, sampled each phone at Verizon stores, and found people around campus with the phones and talked to them as well as tried out their phones. So I pretty much know the ups and downs of every phone in existance and the 8300 was the obvious choice after all that.

The Chocolate phone is basically a "oo cool check out your phone" type thing. In terms how the quality of the phone and the basic features, it is not nearly as nice as the LG VX8300.

The 8300 beat out every other cell phone I reviewed. Hope you agree & purchase it, you won't regret it!

Plus, the "cool" feature of the Chocolate phone is that it is an MP3 player. For $40 (including shipping & shipping insurance) I bought a 1 gig memory card for my 8300 and uploaded a ton of songs. It works great! Every MP3 I currently listen to (about 1,000) is on my phone. Plus, it came free with an adaptor, so I can use it in my digital camera too!
