My birthday is coming up in October and I will be getting a new cell phone as a present. My question to you all is which phone has the best performance for my money? I have researched some sites and came across Smartbench 2011 and Quadrant benchmarks. I also realize that some of the scores are from overclocking the phones. I don't know which one is more accurate to base performance off of or what but my top choices of phones are as follows: Please advise me, thanks. If you can,,, could you narrow it down to your top 4???? :help:

    T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide
    HTC Sensation 4G
    Samsung Galaxy S 4G
    T-Mobile myTouch 4G
    T-Mobile G2x With Google
    Samsung Exhibit 4G
    MOTOROLA CLIQ 2
    HTC HD7 for T-Mobile

Well, hopefully this will help. Stay way from the Cliq 2. It's a horrible and very slow phone...and old. HTC is really stingy when it comes to battery life. They make great phones but, ruin it with small batteries thus making you buy an extended battery which is really ugly and adds a lot of bulk. The MyTouch 4G is ok but, a friend of mine had that phone and hated it because it was slow. The Galaxy lines appear to be decent phones. I don't know much about the Exhibit. I know it isn't much but, hopefully this helps. ^_^

    Thanks Steve B,,

I will definitely take your comments into strong consideration. I look at the specs on a site called GSMarena and some of the phones you mention scored good on the performance rating according to them, but if you have seen or heard from personal experience from friends then I have to strongly consider your opinion.
According to that site, the regular myTouch 4G got good performance and battery life. The Samsung Exhibit 4G runs a Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) with 9hrs talk time.
Well listening to your advice narrows it down to 3 choices. The Samsung Galaxy S 4G, T-Mobile G2x With Google and T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide. If you could take a look at that site since I don't think I can post a link according to the thread rules. Could you tell me what you think about the specs on that site for the T-Mobile G2x With Google and T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide . OH and thank you for your advice,, really appreciate it. :D

T-Mobile G2x has Internal 8 GB storage, 512 MB RAM OS Android OS, v2.2 (Froyo), upgradable to v2.3
CPU Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor, ULP GeForce GPU, Tegra 2 AP20H chipset
And the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide has Internal 4 GB storage, 768 MB RAM, 4 GB ROM OS Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread)
CPU 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor

Well, I did some looking on the MyTouch 4G Slide and the G2X. Between those two, I feel that the LG G2X is A LOT better. I'm liking the specs versus the 4G Slide. I skimmed through some reviews on it and people liked the G2X. If I had to choose myself between the 4G Slide and G2X. I would definitely get the G2X. Just remember though, each person's tastes are different. You may like something else. Don't forget also you might end up with a bad phone in which it needs to be replaced. In other words, if you encounter a problem, don't give up on whatever device you choose right away. I hope that helps you. ^_^

    Thank you once again,,,

I too am leaning towards the T-Mobile G2x/ LG Optimus 2X. I found some more benchmark sites and reviews. I seen that some people were complaining about issues with the G2X but I'm willing to give it a try. As of right now that's the phone I am looking at. I already downloaded a few custom ROM's and Kernels for it, since I came across people stating that LG and Tmobile haven't fixed everything yet. I still got time before I purchase it or I may just go ahead and get it. I am kinda afraid that LG and Tmobile are slacking on getting it fixed cause it beats out some of their other phones. Some people upgraded to Gingerbread and lost their root abilities :nono: I'm no expert but have played around with custom ROM's with the LG Optimus One P500 or LG Optimus T since I think they are the same phone IMO. Gave it to my wife, she loves it,,, hee hee :evillaugh
I will keep you posted on my decision, I just don't won't the price to go up on the GX2 so I might snatch it up early. One thing I can't understand is Tmobile are asking more for the Sensation 4G than what they want for the GX2, unless because of the issues with the GX2 it's cheaper.

Here is something to remember when checking out benchmarks. A lot of the time, when comparing the power of two devices, the only time you will see a difference is in benchmarking. In real world use, you will not notice a difference.

I think you should go for Samsung galaxy S 4G, now days Samsung are launching no. of smartphones, so you have variety of choice.
