Can someone please help me....I want to get rid of my sprint phone and my home phone and just have one good cell phone. the problem is that as of right now my sprint phone gets no service in my apartment, and I am worried I will have this problem with other carriers. Does anyone have any suggestions as to plans, phones, and ways to find out id I will get service in my apartment. Also I want to add two more phones to the plan. Two of us use about 250 anytime minutes a month and the last uses about 400-500 a month. Any plan suggetions? Thanks for the help.

The first question i have is were do you live.

    My sugestion is,

    1. Sprints building penetration SUCKS which is a good reason not to have them as a carrier.

    2. Most Carriers will let you try the phone for 14 days and if you don't like it you can return it and it will not cost you much if anything.
*** AS LONG AS YOU GET IT IN THE CARRIERS STORE***
    3. Check the carriers in your area, get one low cost phone from each(at the same time for side by side comparison) try them in your appartment by calling the land line. See wich phone/carrier works best in that scenario. Make your decision based on that info and then return all the phones and get the one you realy want from the carrier.

    Just my $0.02

I'd say NEVER buy at carrier store unless you absolutely HAVE to. Their prices are complete ripoffs, and most small dealers will accept phones back within carrier's allowed time. Store that I run will take returns under carrier's policy.

Email me. YUmanskiy at Mindspring dot com and I can tell you more. Good plans are out there :)

the only reason i said go to the store is because the dealers somtimes saddle you with only a certain amount of air time usage in the 15 day trial period. The Carriers stores tend not to. do agree with you about the indipendent stores offering much better deals thought. Amending my previous advis, i would say once you pick a carrier, definatley shop around for the phone you want.

Store that I run sells AT&T, T-Mobile, Nextel, we can arrange Verizon.

Let's take AT&T for example. AT&T offers 30 days trial. However, we tell our customers that it's 15 days, just to cover our own and customer's rears. Alot of customers think "Oh,I have alot of time to decide" and then they come on 32nd day to cancel their contracts. So we advise people to make a decision in 15 days

The 15 minute rule is simply rediculous. Who the heck would know how their phone works in different areas in only 15 minutes? We never look at call timers when take back most carriers. However, carriers like Nextel, require all returns to be less than 30 minutes on the phone, within 14 days. If customer exceeds 30 minutes, they have to pay for the phone, but not cancellation fees.

Before shopping around for a service, call each carrier on their official listed number, ask them about return policy. Then call your local cell phone store, and ask them for store policy on returns. If store has decent enough policy and it doesn't violate carrier's policy, then you should buy it.

If you want more info or decide to try a service, give me a call 718-837-2400

I don't know if it's Cingular policy, but my store also offers returns for under 30 days of time, under 30 minutes of use. If someone's buying a phone that we consider "sketchy" at all, we recommend that they, before putting a lot of time on it, make sure it works in places that they travel frequently.

And if you do go with Verizon, I would then definently make sure you go to a company owned store. If you do not, they do not have to honor the 1 year manufactures warranty, and alot of times resellers sell phones that Verizon does not even carry.
