I have to say, ever since the announcement I've been wanting to take a look at the 7150 and Nokia E90.
Yes, very nice thank you.. Me wants the 8150, wow great features & only 11 mm thick The Blackjack is 12 mm. Great something to look forward to.
Now you are being really bad, I want that 8150 so bad I can feel it in my hands..... Seriously though, thank you
LOL. I also sort of like the Moto Q9. Now as things go forward our options are going to be a lot and making our mind will become even harder. On a side note, I was invited to the RIM/at&T BB event this month. Hopefully they will give some free samples of their BBs like the 8800.
I've used several iMates in the past and they are great devices, but those key pads look like the same as the Nokia 9300 Communicator that I returned. I really don't like keys that don't have spaces between each other. And they look like they wouldn't provide much feedback either.
After having used Nokia 6820 for a few years I'm sure I won't be bothered too much by the keys being close together.
After looking more, I think they could have made the keyboard to be a squerty (something like the Pearl) as it looks like they have enough space to fit such type of keyboard. But I do like the flip one and if it that good in life then it could very well replace my moto phone.
I see what you mean but I do like them more than many others. Just found the info below about these and what are the basics on them: i-mate™ Ultimate All Ultimate devices come with the following specifications: Microsoft Windows Mobile® 6 Intel Bulverde 520MHz Quad-Band GSM/EDGE, Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA WiFi 802.11b/g/e/i 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM Micro SD card slot VGA 262K Colour LCD Touch Screen Bluetooth® v2.0 + EDR - up t 1.3 Mbps Mini USB high speed - 480 Mbps Direct Video Out XGA Micro SD card slot 2.0 mega pixel camera FM Stereo Radio Microsoft® Direct Push email directly from MS Exchange® 2003 SP2
I agree but with specs as hf1khal posted below and looks that great, I can learn to deal with it quickly
When you use the keyboard as much as I do, it is one of the most important aspects of the device. I am still not sold on the rounded keys on my Blackjack. I am so used to the standard Qwerty from RIM that I have used for years, it will take some time to get adept at this new one.
Lol, you think I said "I hate touching the screen" a few too many times? Does the 8150 remind you of the N73, it does to me a little? I have to admit that the it took me a little time to get used to the Blackjack's keys also What do you think that is? I know you don't like bar phones but that 9150 is a nice flip.
I would go with the table style before this flip, I don't know what it is about them I don't care for. I guess that's because I am wierd.
That, too A phone is a phone is a phone... I think that's the only similarities I can find between 8150 and N73. Oh, and the color
Well I still don't see the similarities between teh N73 and the 8150. May be I am going blind on this.
Nope not the color Lets see both have same form factor, the rounded corners, the keypad area much smaller than the screen area......Come on guys use your imagination
Thanks for the laugh! I haven't seen the words guys and imagination used in such conjunction in a very long time
LOL that happened because I used my imagination. I stil think that the I mate is a bit wider than teh N73 and the keys are larger which would make it a bit easier than teh N73. But above all the I mate is a lot thiner (well at least based on the picture that i saw on phonescoop. All in all, for me if it was one fo teh two it would be the imate.
dmapr, hf1khal You are both too funny. Unquestionably the 8150 is much more feature packed & also a much better looking device. OT, I could have bought the N73 middle of 09/07 in Singapore. they were almost giving it away during the World Bank Summit there. But the 6131 was pretty new then & I was not quite ready to give it up.
Is that middle of September 2007 or lunchtime on the September 7, 2006? If the former, can I hitch a ride in your time machine next time you go? For some reason I was never tempted by any of the N-series phones, and I'm just as suspicious of all things S60 as I am of all things WinMo (which probably explains why I have never ventured outside S40, although I can see the possibility in my future).
Sure you are always the one to catch on soemthing like this. LOL the only one from the Nokia line up that i moght like is the N76. As many know this already my fav is the flip style phones Now I wish BB makes one jsut like that with a querty sure type keyboard too that would make my day.
Lol, nothing escapes you I see, actually I meant to say middle of September 2006, sorry. I love S60, as I do WM, although I prefer the S60 over the WM. I would still have my 6682 if it was a quad band. hf1khal I like bar phones, the 6131 is an exception for me
I know what you meant, just couldn't resist the pun Maybe I haven't seen S60 on the right hardware, as things are now I haven't enough patience to wait for phone's responses to my actions BTW, I like bar phones, too, 6131 is an exception for me as well
i-mate CEO Looks For Operator Deals, Lauches TV Dubai-based mobile device developer i-mate is looking to increase the number of deals it has with mobile phone operators after deciding to end its relationship with handset supplier HTC. I-mate, which makes smartphones and pocket PCs for business customers, is planning to extend its market by also targeting major network operators with high- to mid-end handsets. Speaking to Dow Jones Newswires Tuesday at the 3GSM World Congress, Chief Executive Jim Morrison said a previous agreement with Asian device maker HTC had forced i-mate to steer clear of major operators, because HTC provided its own "white-labeled" products to mobile network providers. That manufacturing agreement runs out in July, and decided not to renew i-following HTC's decision to sell its own HTC-branded phones direct to business customers. I-mate now has agreements in place with three manufacturers to produce handsets that run on Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating platform. "The market is going ballistic. Operators from all around the world are coming on board," said Morrison. "We've launched nine handsets at 3GSM," he said. "Our focus is on corporates, but we're broadening the portfolio to focus on high-end customers and operators." Previously i-mate sold HTC-designed phones with an i-mate brand and also distributed devices such as the XDA, which Telefonica's mobile arm O2 sold to business customers under its own brand. Morrison says i-mate also plans to launch a TV and digital media entertainment system to consumer customers in the third quarter as it broadens its product portfolio. The X-Stream digital media hub product, on display at the conference, will include analog and digital TV broadcast facilities, a 500-gigabyte hard drive and a disc drive for DVDs and music. In January, i-mate issued a profit warning based on problems in its supply chain, which sent shares down more than 50%. As a result of the problems, the company expects to report an operating loss in the second half of its financial year ending March 31, 2007. The supply chain issues are likely to endure into the first quarter of the 2007/08 financial year, according to the company. I-mate now expects full-year revenues of $190 to $200 million, with fourth-quarter revenues expected to be in the range of $30 million to $40 million. www.cellular-news.com/story/22037.php
