AFAIK, you can't ESN change that phone to an account, or line within a family plan that doesn't have PTT. The computer recognizes it as a v60p, *at least in my market* and won't all you to add it, unless you change your plan. H.T.H, good luck!

Try to do the ESN change online prior to buying it. If it works then great and if not.. nothing gained nothing lost.

From what i hear it will either not work at all, or it will work and then all sorts of service problems will start to occur.

you can also trade it for a V60i if you really like that style of phone.

Sorry to answer late, but yes, everyone is correct, it cannot be activated without a PTT plan. Even if they allowed you to do so, you would experience huge billing and technical problems.

you might be able to get a rep to remove the feature codes needed on the acct for it. but it might still cause service problems. i would just forget it and like they said try and trade for a v60i

Tried it and it sucks, nextel has nothing to worry about. the service is spotty and the interface is nothing that people used to nextel's service will like, and now i see that cingular is jumping into having PTT. in my opinion they both need to conencentrate on faster wireless brodband access and lowering the prices on that service if they expect more non business users to use it, like college students when out of an hotspot/wifi area and not at home. i.e on the bus looking up info for a class.
