I was looking at the prices for partial upgrades for two years. All the colored PEBLs except for the blue one are free with a partial upgrade for two years. I got the black one and I've only been with T-Mobile for 4 1/2 months! This is pretty cool, I'm going to try and get the unlock code and eBay it.
Eddie, you rule! After reading your thread I went to T-Mobile.com and got the black PEBL for $5 S&H and my wife upgraded to get the snot green PEBL, also for $5 S&H. An early Christmas present from WA and Etorres777!:hyper:
Snot green? LMAO. I know $5 isn't bad. I don't plan on leaving T-Mobile anytime soon, I'm tired of switching, so two years isn't too bad. I'm going to eBay mine and buy another phone, or should I keep the PEBL? LOL.
Speaking of which, I am thinking of getting a T-Mobile account or Cingular to try out GSM again. But of the two, I will get more with T-Mobile (unlimited messaging for $14.99/mo. and internet for $5.99/mo.). It is a good deal. That way I can have both a business and personal phone. But I am not sure yet if I will do this. I have to crunch some numbers first.
LOL. Crunch numbers Mr. Accountant LOL. Well give T-Mobile a shot. I've tried almost everyone and to me T-Mobile works. Unlimited Messaging is amaziing. The billing cycle before I started school I raked up 10,500 text messages! LOL. Plus I also have myFaves and almost all my friends have T-Mobile so I have a lot of minutes or other people. So how are things going? I haven't talked to you in the longest time.
10,500 text messages? That's a lot of text, Eddie. Are your thumbs sore? I've got my brother and wife on my T-Mobile account and I recently added my parents after US Cellular bought the divested CellularONE market here in Kansas. Now I'm trying to get my wife's family all on T-Mobile. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon, which is why the 2-year contract for a free PEBL doesn't bother me. (If it was any other phone, I probably wouldn't have done it.) Any idea why the blue one (the ugliest PEBL colour other than pink, IMHO) isn't free? That's totally weird.
Hey Eddie. I switched my major from accounting to management, but I still like to crunch numbers...lol! Other than that I have been good. I will be getting a deserved break in 3 weeks when the semester is over with. I am contemplating getting T-Mobile just to say that I have tried every U.S. carrier (well almost everyone except Alltel and Nextel), and to try their myFaves, have unlimited messaging to anyone, and unlimited internet. How have things been going with you? Drop me a PM and we can talk more so we do not go too off topic in this thread.
My thumbs aren't sore LOL. The free PEBL is the only reason I upgraded and renewed for 2 years as well. Awesome deal, I wonder how much I'll get from it off of eBay. I think the blue one was actually the most popular one. Maybe they sold out of the blue one?
This is a really awesome deal. I got in on it earlier today and upgraded all 3 lines. In addition to the $5 shipping, I had to pay tax. Did anyone else get hit with that?
In some places you have to pay tax not on the purchase price, in this case $0.00, but on some othe pre-determined price, probably full retail cost. My printed invoice says, "In accordance with the laws and regulations of certain jurisdictions, the tax charged to the customer may be based on an amount other than the purchase price of the phone." My thinking is that, in California and some other states, you're charged not for the discounted, rebated price of the phone but for the full cost of the phone. Not really fair, IMHO, but what're you gonna do, it's the government, they don't have to be fair or make sense.:loony:
Gotta love those California taxes, lol. But, at $25 it still makes for a nice Christmas gift. And the contract doesn't bother me, cuz I have no plans to go anywhere else. T-Mobile customer service has been great to me over the years.
Well that sucks, just called T-Mobile and they're telling me that the free Pebl is only for new customers and that is not an upgrade option for existing customers.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Eddie and I both just upgraded to one. Runs to check T-Mobile.com Holy , the PEBL isn't listed anymore. That sucks, Tony.
Yeah i just tried calling again with a different rep and told me the same. That's ok, i wanted to get this for mom. When i port my Cingular number to T-Mobile next month i can get it for free and give the PEBL to her and i'll just buy me an unlocked KRAZR for my use.:browani:
Yes, the unlocked KRZR is nice. My brother has had one for about two months and he still hasn't figured out all the features.
Aw that sucks. Like Aaron said, we're both existing customers and we got. I've just been with T-Mobile for about 5 months now and I still got the price.
I do, too. I was really worried about the keypad, actually, because it didn't look well-designed but man, my fingers seem to always find the right keys and predictive text rules! (My v620 sort of had it, but the U6's predictive text is much better.)
Well i just ported my Cingular number to T-Mobile, but i went with the KRAZR K1. :browani: EDIT: well, almost, how long does porting take? i did this around 5pm pacific time and my Cingular phone is still active.
My parents were ported from US Cellular (former CellularONE/Western Wireless) to T-Mobile in a matter of 3-4 hours. P.S.- Gaah! 'Edit' is too close to 'quote!' I suppose eventually I'll get the hang of this.
