I bought myself a new iPhone 5s 64GB in Space Gray. My laptop is on the way out so I also decided to get the MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display. I have never used the Mac OS, so this will be a new experience for me. I did test out the OS in detail at Best Buy the other day. The reason I got the MBP was due to the fact of being back in school for a second bachelor's degree (this time in CIS). I was also looking for portability and long battery life.

My current laptop lasts for 1.5 hours when unplugged and gets extremely hot. The new MBP with awesome battery life (from what I have read in reviews) will be a welcome addition to my school life.

I will post reviews on both once I have used them over the Christmas break. My MBP should be here between December 18th to the 20th. Stay tuned for both of my reviews!

Very nice! I guess iOS 7 was a big enough change to make iOS look fresher.

    Congrats!

Thanks viewfly. Yes it is very nice. I am really liking the control center and the notification center has been improved. So far I do not miss widgets. To be fair, the only widget I used on my Galaxy S4 was for weather. Other than that, the reception is better on my 5s than it was on my S4. LTE and Wi-Fi speeds appear to be faster. The battery life is also good considering the smaller battery size. The iCloud syncing both my iPad and my iPhone's safari tabs is very cool. I will hopefully post a review this weekend.

Then you'll really enjoy Safari tab synching with your MacBook too.

AirDrop is great for sharing large files and no common wifi is needed. But Airdrop between Mac OS and iOS is lacking. Maybe iOS 7.1? In the meantime http://instashareapp.com/ fills the gap and uses device to device wifi or BT.

My MacBook Pro is from 2009. I upgraded the HD, but other than that it's still going strong on the latest Maverick OS.
