Ok, basically ive done this before, I seem edited my V3m to work with the phone tools. I redid windows, loaded my motherboard drivers, loaded the programs on, but now, I cant get my computer to load my phone. When I hook up the cable, it says V3m detected, then the hardware wizard thing pops up and asks to install the device. I hit automatically detect, so it does, but installs nothing. Then the phone doesnt show up anymore in device manager, which it has a yellow ! currently. Is it because I changed the model to V3mm when I did the seem edit? If so, how do I fix it? Cause I cant sync anything without loading the drivers.
If you redid your comp like you mentioned then the drivers need to be installed again so Windows can find them when the Add new hardware box comes up. Here is a link to the newest ones released by Moto about 5 weeks ago. Download these, then run the installer After which time you should be able to plug the phone in and it should be able to find the correct drivers. Ok, I downloaded it, ran it, and the phone worked on the phone tools. Well, it recognized it. I can access my phone and take things off of it, but I cant put anything back on. As in, I cant put music or anything on it. When I open media player 11 to sync music, the driver just...dies or something. Phone tools stops working, and my phone is no longer recognized. I have to reinstall the driver again. But as it is now, all I can do is take things off my phone, not put them back on. EDIT: When I try to transfer in MPT, it says processing failed.
I am with the stupid one that locks their phones, Verizon. When my contracts up, im switching to Qwest...maybe. That is, if I can get signal here.
You need to do a seem edit to your phone to turn on USB transfer which is why you are having issues with MPT being able to write to the phone. As for syncing with WMP you need to do to VZW's site and grab the WMP fix download they have for it. That is a different driver then the one needed for MPT just as an FYI. As another FYI the reason you have issue once you try WMP and then go back to MPT is because f the different drivers it loads. To correct it it's always just easy to close the program you are using, unplug the phone and then plug it back in so the correct driver gets loaded and the other one gets released so the software functions correctly. I have VZW as a carrier myself, and I do agree it ticks me off how they lock there phones I'd never switch just because of the service. I never have had an issue anywhere I've traveled in the country, and I've got so many friends that are with AT&T or Nextel and Sprint and they are always complaining about the crap service. Anywhoo if you need any info on seem editing feel free to ask.
Originally I did do the seem edit, I turned on the usb transfer, and switched the version to V3mm so I could use the Phone Tools multimedia part. Then, when I redid windows, it wont work. I can get MPT to recognize and extract things from my phone, but I cant put anything on it. And since I did the seem edit already, wouldnt it be on the phone programming? See thats where im stuck. I cant do a seem edit cause my computer wont recognize it in the program, but MPT half recognizes it, and WMP kills the driver. Also, if you dont have a memory card, assuming you have a V3m, and I think a couple other Razr versions, you can flash it to Alltel, but then the memory card doesnt work. But, everythings factory reset. Just a thought. I was going to do that originally, but then it said my memory card slot would be unable to recognize anything, so here I am, unable to fully use my card anyways...lol...ironic indeed.
You won't lose the Tf slot if you flash to Alltel. You could have read a way old post back in the day when there was no Alltel v3m flash file. Now that there is a Alltel & Vivo v3m Monster flash you would not lose anything what so ever. I personally have both of my Razr's ( 1 v3c ,& 1 v3m ) flashed to Alltel. My v3c is flashed with the customer upgrade being that was the only type of flash around at the time. As for the v3m I owed that is flashed to the Monster Alltel file and everything works just like it is suppose to. Question how did you go about setting your v3m in MPT as the v3mm? What issue are you having now with doing seem, being you said you can't get it to recognized. Personally it sounds to me like you have a driver issue on the comp. I reinstall Xp like every 3months and never run into an issue after words. In all honesty most the the software seems to be more stable on my cops after a reinstall.
Ok, how would I go about flashiing to Altell and keeping my flash card? Is there a site or guide to do it? I seem edited it about 2 months ago to V3mm. It may be my windows install. But I dont know. I can get everything to work except when I try to sync it kills all drivers to the phone and I have to redo them every time. So, basically I cant sync anything no matter how hard I try and no matter what patches I install, thus I will flash to altell if I can keep my flash card.
Here is a link to the flashes file. You want to download the Alltel Monster file listed on this site Verizon firmware downloads, Motorola, LG, and Samsung software, seems and DLL. As for a flash guide you can use either one of these 2 doesn't matter. It's a matter of what you feel more comfortable with they will both have the same end result; RAZR, V3C, V3M, E815 Motorola/LG Mobile Phone Help Pages by Mark Venture - Monster1 RAZR, V3C, V3M, E815 Motorola/LG Mobile Phone Help Pages by Mark Venture - Monster2
