Hello everyone, I hope someone can help me. I have a v3m through verizon. I have downloaded MPT and done the seem edits to enable file transfers, I can transfer pics to my phone but cant get ringtones on it. I have read all the posts and cant find anyone with my same problem. Even if my audio file is mp3 i still get an error message that says unsupported media type when i try to transfer ringtones. Also when i click on the video studio in MPT it closes down and sends me back to the mobile phone icon on my desk top. Any ideas whats going on here. I believe I have MPT 4.5.6 and I do have motorola software update downloaded. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a Verizon V3m also. I purchased Motorola Phone Tools just for the function of moving pictures and videos from my phone to my PC. MPT recognizes my phone, but the multimedia function (which I believe is used to move pictures/videos) is not shown. What am I doing wrong?

What are "SEEM" edits???? I read where if I change my phone from a V3m to a V3mM, the multimedia function in MPT will work, but I don't understand how to make this change!! Help!!

AMAZING!!!! AMAZING!!! I hate to scream, but thank you all so much. I did the SEEM edits to my phone to change it from a V3m to a V3mM, and got EXACTLY what I wanted from Motorola Phone tools!!! The Mulitmedia function is now recognized and I can move files to and fro from my phone to my pc and from pc to phone. It works!! Thank you!!!

You need to convert your desired mp3 file to a wave file. Download a free file converter from the internet. Once done call up the wave file in MPT (multimedia studio, melody studio) and clip it down to size or you can select the songs particular rift as your ringtone or any part of the song. Then simply click to add it to your choice of ringtones. You can do it!

Can someone tell me all the risks involved with SEEM editing? Is it worth it? Will it damage my phone?
