    Yes I am ok. Thanks.

Well SW Florida (particularly Naples, Florida and North Naples) dodged the worst part of Hurricane Charley. ;)

At our house, we had wind gusts anywhere from 84-100 mph. :eek

The power went out at our house at 2:50 p.m. and came back on at 8:30 p.m.

Comcast Cable is still out (it has been out since Friday at 2:50 p.m. and it is still right now...Tuesday @ 2:15 p.m.)

My weather radio/scanner worked perfectly during Hurricane Charley since we didn't have power for our radio or t.v.

We have a few palm tree branches snapped off, but that is it.

So neighbors in my neighborhood had whole trees ripped from the ground that were 50 ft. high.

In Collier County (my county), North Naples had the worst part of the storm for the whole county.....but Port Charlotte County and some parts of North Fort Myers were the worst hit areas in SW Florida.

Some billboards close to my house were completely destroyed.

Other than that, it is mostly minor damage compared to Port Charlotte, and Punta Gorda.

Good to hear that you're all right. I have a passion for using a scanner too when I'm back at home. It sure made a lot of boring days a great deal more fun.

Anyway, best of luck to you for the recovery process............

    Thanks ShoresGuy. :)

    I appreciate it.

We are back to normal now....but residents in Charlotte County and the counties surrounding it are still not back to normal.

Yup, how's cell service in your area? Did any towers get knocked down or were they even affected by the hurricane?

Sprint service is back to normal.

We were able to use our Sprint phones during and after Hurricane Charley....but the service after Charley was away from our area wasn't 100%, since for the 2nd time (and this time I didn't force my phone to do a digital roam like the other time) my phone was roaming on Alltel, but that has been fixed, and now it doesn't roam anymore.

I guess the power outages like our news said affected cell towers in our area. ;)

It would be rare to see a tower go out here. Towers are normally located so close together that they cover each other should a neighboring one fail.

Looks like Fla might get hammered again next week, this time by Frances.
