I have an HTC Rhyme with a damaged screen and cannot get it repaired as there are no Sony made screens around at the moment. If I get a phone with a bad ESN and swap the mother board from my phone into the chassis of the "bad ESN" phone will that work? I assume that the ESN is chipped into the motherboard circuitry and if I swap board then the new phone will work as if it was the old one. If that makes sense does anyone know if I assume correctly? Regards Andy
That's the way it's supposed to work. The ESN is a permanent part of the radio board, so if you transplant the radio board into a new case with a working LCD, all should be well. You may also want to move over the back of the case with the correct ESN written on it. COtech
