Did the app see that your x10 was connected?

Have you tried to install another apk, did it install ok?

Nope the app did not and neither did other apps that I tried to load.

My device is recognized by three or four other programs though.

    Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.6; en-us; SonyEricssonX10a Build/R2CA016) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1

Did you remember to turn on USB Debugging before connecting the X10?

Have you tried placing the apk in the folder with the Sideload exe?

Also make sure you have the proper USB drivers for your x10.

Charlyee, have a look on this thread, there's some people mentioning the same error as you had, and some possible solutions, ex:
(pretty much the same advice bundey gave above)

budney and RR, thanks. Putting it into the same folder brought me one step closer but it still does not recognize my device.

Here, is the post I made on that thread itself.

budney, the file storage site mentioned in your link, is blocked from my work computer, I have the drivers from the Sony website.

Not that I know the answer, but which OS are you running the sideloader on?

No further questions, Your Honor :) If it were Vista or 7 you could've blamed the UAC :D
