How to get mms to work with pst

1 download the files i have posted
2 install them using pst (the mms message [using pst 7.2.5], the browser file, and the brew one using pst) (the seems load from file and write to phone with pk seem or any seem editor)
3 restart the phone after saving everything
4 if this is still not working, call verizon and give them the message your phone says "national access coverage not available" when you send picture or video messages.
5 they will reset your mms messaging features. make sure after every time you do a *228 or likewise ie *22855 you disable evdo* without telling them
6 it should get to about 90% and than stop.
7 when it does, hang up
    8 create a new websession called VZW_MMS

    Name: VZW_MMS

    Homepage:http://homepage

UserID: XXXXXXXXXX (your 10 digit TN)

    Password:***(vzw)

    Gateway IP1:000.000.000.000

    Gateway1: mms.vtext.com

    Service Type1:HTTP

    Port 1:80

    E2E Port 1:9201

    LXL Port 1:0

    Gateway IP 2:000.000.000.000

    Gateway 2:

    Service Type 2:

    Port 2: 0

    E2E Port 2: 0

    LXL Port 2: 0

9 Seem 2742 0001 bytes 90 offset 62 check bit 5 turns on MMS Server edit

    Seem 2742 0001 bytes 90 offset 6a check bit 3 turn’s on Data Menu

10 after doing the above seem edits go to menu/settings/security/data sessions and 1xrtt data change usrname to your10digitphone#@vzw3g.net
    and password to vzw

11 inbox / Message Inbox / Options / inbox Setup / MMS Message Setup / Server Info / Options /Edit

    12 Service Name VZW

    13 Server Name http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms

    14 Web Session name VZW_MMS

15 done!! back out of menus and restart phone!!!

    * disable evdo by pressing #073887* at the main phone screen
    go to test mode
    enable it
    exit the menus
than hit clr and left soft key
    a menu should come up
Press the right soft-key key *3 TIMES* or until you see at the top "ServOpt: NoChg" - "AudioOpt: Auto"
keep hitting the down key until hdr preferance comes up
change hdr preferance from auto to cdma
the phone will freeze a couple of seconds
hit clr and left softkey to exit
optional* #073887* and disable test mode

How come u have to disable EvDO? :headscrat You can have GIN, MMS, and Mobile Web fully functional with both 1x AND EvDO.

If you do not fix evdo than you have to disable evdo
i just thought the fixing evdo thing was risky so i did not do it

The flash is about 10x riskier than fixing evdo. In fact, fixing evdo might be one of th easier fixes needed AFTER flashing. It is just a matter of writing one seem, writing the 10.key to the /DMU folder, and if still not working, entering the hex values into the Mobile IP since u will b e in there creating a second profile anyways...

well it is risky to me and i am only 13 years old and flashing my phone and fixing mms so i am not as "good" as you with stuff like hexediting. i know how to hexedit i just think that it is riskier than plugging in a phone and clicking a flash file and pressing a button and wait while the computer does all the work!!:)

If you would like to send me your cdma_sec file, I will be happy to get the values you need and tell you where in the mobile ip field to enter them. I know NONE of this is easy, but I honestly believe that if u have comprehended what u need to gather to flash, then this could be done as well. Also, if u had backed up your 01d2 seem, you could write that to your phone and then just write the 10.key and EvDO SHOULD work. If u would liek me to extract your hex values, dont attach the cdma_sec file here, PM me and I will send u my email address since it contains phone info (not that anyone could do much with it, but just in case).

    Hello Cincyball,

Have did minor hacks and have MPT fully working with Multi Media.

Could you answer or direct me on how to do or find info on

1-Changing the up, right and left navigation keys to a different feature

    and

2-The pro's and con's of reflashing to alltel software. And where to get the needed files

    I have a 3vm verizon

    Thanks

At first I thought it was a typo, but you know it is a v3m, right? Not a 3vm, hehe.

Anyways, to change the up, left, and right navigation keys, you MUST flash to Alltel's firmware. Verizon's firmware can only change the down arrow. Alltel's also allows you to program the left and right softkeys.

As for the benefits, you get to do what we listed above. You get full bluetooth file transfers between phones (both phones must have OPP), and full bluetooth transfer with your comp (OBEX). You can do custom skins (no stupid themes liek verizon f/w). Battery life is good for about 4 or 5 days with an hour of talking each day. Verizons battery is no where near that good. You can have mp3 SONGS in addition to the mp3 ringtones. You can set the phone as a USB mass storage device to transfer files w/ your microSD card. There is ZERO lag when pushing buttons, unlike the Verizon f/w which is very unresponsive and sluggish. You get icon menus instead of the tab main menu setup. Im sure there are some other pros I have left out, but thats the major points.

The cons are that if u mess up, your phone is TOAST. The flash is usually uneventful. But the tricky parts are getting the data services working. Right off the bat, phone and text work, but no GIN,MMS, or Mobile Web. But they can bex fixed. The only things that will never be the same are VZNav (since Alltel doesnt use LBS), and Vcast. There is no verizon media player either, but u can still create playlists. Other than that, everythign works.

    Guide -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/Monster2.htm

I will post some pics in a miute of a few screen shots with my iPhone skin.

Yea, I have the Alltel firmware on my phone. That is the only way to get custom skins on the verizon razr. There are tons available too. I have a Family Guy, Red Sox, Carbon Fiber theme skin, and plenty of others. Definitely one of th bigger reasons I flashed.
