Nope the 690 is still on its way along with another 5 PTT phones, but you wont see them until network enhancements are made. VZW is not making the same mistake twice.

Thats too bad...the A690 is seriously ugly. I saw one of the "Can you hear me now" guys with it. The Day-glo orange PTT button is fugly.

But will they be able to convince potential customers that the newer version is improved? It's one thing to say it is (even if the claims of improvement are true) and quite another to try and get someone to come in and see how it works when they are rather skeptical to begin with.

They'd have to gimme a demo phone and try out the newer adnvanced verison of PTT before I would just walk in the store and get it. I'd def. have to see some hands on experience. Cause I shudder to think about the problems with the v60p in the early days.

Totally agree with you Anthro... Im really not all that worried about VZW PTT, i find no practical use for the service or any PTT service for that matter, although I do believe it has its spot in the marketplace.

anyway more and more people are buying Readylink phones.
Sprint has declared this the "Year of Readylink" just like last years "The year of picture mail"
I love the Sanyo 5500, beats anyphone out there right now.
