Our next 12-digit/step Phoneaholics Anonymous meeting will be tomorrow at the Verizon Wireless Auditorium in Bell, California.

Our topic will be about a really cool website called Wireless Advisor. I've heard great things about it AND that they are a phoneaholics best friend! :D

So bring your mobile phones and join us!!

You're not alone, Joe, numbers 29 is arriving Friday (hopefully) and number 30 may be just around the corner.

DRAT!! It figures this thread would rekindle my obsession with things mobile...:banghead::rant:

Well, at least I'm not spending a fortune this time. I'm just getting a few, inexpensive Nokia 6682 replacements/alternates for AT&T. I'm bored, so why not buy a new phone (or two)...:O

YES, I've lost my mind.:googlyeye :loony: Not that I wasn't already aware of this in the first place...

It figures a week after I update my list I would add a couple more phones...

Fortunately both were very inexpensive. Needed some new AT&T and T-Mobile backups...;) (Uh, yeah, I just needed a reason to buy a new phone or two :smilebig: ).

The scary part is that I've owned about 25 phones since Fall 2002. I would say I DEFINITELY have a phone addiction..YA THINK???

As of 8/28/07, the 10+ phone owners group is at 32. Everything else adds up to 33 combined.

I guess what this says is there are a lot of phone-a-holics here :D. I count myself among them. The fact that one more vote for "10+" will equal all other choices combined. Amazing!

Yea, I would have been suprised if the results went the other direction. I think most of us in here minimally get a new phone per year and some of us more than that!

Ain't it the truth! I'm in the "more than that" group. I love technology and phones are cool. It's fun and I enjoy talking about it.

    No wonder I'm a near-3 year member of WA...:D

It's nice to have a forum where we can discuss our beloved technology and our devices. I think I'm more glued since I won my Q! I haven't been able to put the phone down since! Technology can be addicting once you get past the initial hurdles.

These forums are great, because you can post the issue you have been experiencing and more than likely someone else has already experienced the same issue.

    1. Motorola Ultra Classic II (2003-present)

Purchased for $6 on eBay, activated by Cellular 2000 in summer 2003, lovingly maintained and accessorized ever since. People either don't believe it's a phone or they think I have it with me as a gag. The gag's on them when I make calls from concrete basements and backwoods cabins where nobody else has any reception! I'll miss it dearly when Unicel's sunset comes (May).

What's out there with the kind of durability, simplicity, and (relative) size of this venerable handset? I thought RAZR was a good choice until I read the failure reports on other threads.

I would recommend a Motorola V551. They are cheap, durable, have nice features like EDGE, Bluetooth, and Voice Dialing, and they have solid RF. They work where other phones don't.
