How many of us got the Moto v710 Accessory Promo

While I'm sure you'll find plenty of people here that did get the promotional item, I doubt you would find it even close to all. It was for the first 710 people to register. I know there are allot of people on this forum, but from posts regarding the 710, I doubt there are 100 people here that have it.

I myself di qualify and opted for the speakerphone

 

Actually, I imagine that very few of the winners came from the hallowed halls of WA, because of the timing involved in the promotion (Moto opened the registration site a full week before VZW 'officially' released the phone to accomodate the bleeding-edgers who bought at RadioShack). Many regulars here (myself included) had NE2 credits to use, and therefore couldn't buy from RS.

I got one as well. I got the speaker since I already have the HS820.

 

Got the email, as well. Going for the Bluetooth headset. Just got my Palm Zire 72 yesterday. Got it syncing with my PC via Bluetooth, but having difficulties getting it to talk with my V710. Work in progress.

 

I got it, but i can't believe i have to wait 8-10 weeks for the bloody thing.

 

i'm hoping, heh probably wont happen, that it will come sooner.. who knows

 

how do you know if you got in? I received a confirmation email after registration that they would contact me in 2-4 weeks. I havent heard crap from them. Has anyone actually recieved the item or some sort of follow up message?

You won't have to wait 8-10 weeks. My free headset shipped out 8/23/04. Someone on another forum reported receiving theirs today.

 

I received my free HS810 today. It's basically the user guide and the earpiece but no charger. That sucks. Luckily you can use the v710 charger for it. Also, it needs to be charged before using. Weird thing is it doesn't come in the same packaging as the ones in the store in fact there is no packaging.

 

yeah i got mine too today, that is kinda gay no charger, but that's ok, i have 2 motorola chargers, one from the v710 and one from my old T720..yay free stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!11

According to the site, my accessory shipped on 8\25. That 8-10 weeks thing was pretty outrageous. I guess not as bad as the rebates being unavailable before the phone even came out.

 

They just sent me my speakerphone. It's a smidgeon louder than the phone, and is nice because I don't have to open the phone to get the speakerphone option.

The only bummer is that they didn't include the clip -- I was planning on using it on my car visor. Oh, well.

It has a nice audio turn-off notification. You don't have to actually watch to see when the speaker turns off.

 

Got mine too (HS810) the other day, sans charger. I have the HS820 and charger already so I can use that. I like the 810 a little better since you don't have to use the button to turn it on and off - just flip the boom mic. About 3 gm heavier but color scheme matches the v710, FWIW.

 

I was wondering if part of the rules for you to actually win the promo was that you had to send in the $70 rebate form also. I registered online and recieved a confirmation Email that they recieved my registration, but I have not heard anything else. It seems people are already recieving there Accessory. Can anyone help....

Well then, I guess we will see. I did bring the phone back to RS on the 11th and then went to the VZW store and bought another one. I hope that didn't screw it up for some reason... (The reason is a long story) Thanks for the info...

 

That may have screwed up the rebate on the 810 or mobile speaker phone. I would imagine that Moto took precautions so that people could not run out buy a 710, apply for the freebie then return the phone for a full rebate but keep the giveaway. Hope for your sake that I am wrong...but that could be a possible explanation.

 

Well, at least got something. Had specified the headset, but got the speakerphone. I'm not disappointed, it works great and will probably get more use out of it than the headset.

For those that got the speakerphone, any idea on where I could order the carrying case/visor clip for it?

Got my speakerphone yesterday. Was hoping I could find the visor clip as well.

 

Searching out on the websites, the speakerphone case couldn't be found from any 3rd party reseller. So, broke down & called Motorola. They confirmed the promotion did not provide for the carrying case. Instead of trying to build a home-made device to attach it, decided to go ahead and buy it from them. The damage:

$14.99 case
3.95 UPS ground
+ state sales tax

FYI.

 

When I called the 1-866-BUY-MOTO # and talked to the sales guy, I just told him the visor case for the HF800 and, after waiting a minute for him to look up the part #, found it. He didn't give me a part # over the phone.

You can either try again and talk to someone else to see if they have better luck, or I'll post it in this thread when I hopefully get it next week, the packing list should denote part #.
