So I decided not to turn my phone off at night, and get a better idea of true standby time.

This battery cycle has been 75-80% on LTE, I am quite happy with the results.

One lesson that I was just refreshed about, is the amazing affect of screens 'being on' and the adverse affect of battery life. I think someone, maybe Charlyee, back in the day before smartphone screens, made the observation that SMS'ing was the same usage as a phone call.

That may have changed. I rarely use my iPhone as a phone. ;) But the last two day, I have been on the phone for 1 or 2 hours each day. My battery usage really improved.

It appears that the power consumed during a phone call, in my microcell location, is far, far less that when I constantly turn on my screen to check emails or anything else.

The phone call, when the phone is near my ear, and the proximity sensor turns off the screen, has been giving me greatly increased usage times.

Cool. Maybe I should call people instead of texting. :)

Yes screen takes the most power in my opinion. In the last SS I posted, Messenger, Messages, and Tapatalk, all require the screen to be on and all are at the high end of battery usage.

Phone calls can rate up there depending on coverage but yes typically since the screen turns off when holding a phone in proximity to your face, the impact is less.

First full charge after 8.2 update, think it has improved over 8.1.3

My LG G3 started out with decent battery life but seemed to drain more quickly after the Android 5 update and now it won't even last 5 hours of heavy use.

I've been really impressed with the battery life on the iPhone 6 Plus. After charging it fully, it can stay at 100% for the better part of 12 to 15 hours (if I use it slightly). I have never had a phone with such a strong, long lasting battery. So far very pleased with the phone and its battery.

Did the iOS 8.4 update last week and had read some users were having battery drain issues. Not me. In fact, my phone's battery life is equal to or better than before (on 8.3).

    20150715_041607000_iOS.png

Above was from Tuesday night. Below is from Wednesday morning before I charged the phone. The phone likely would have made it to 5 days before fully draining. I decided not to push it. I'm overjoyed at getting 4 days of use on a single charge. Never had that before with any previous phone.
