I am going to move to Champaign. I would like to know how the cingular coverage in Champaign is. I heard from people who live there that cingular coverage in Champaign is very bad. I don't want to change my cell phone number. Thanks.

You can check street coverage on their site. Does your cell phone have free roaming? If not you can always switch and keep your number.

Here's the street coverage, just put in the address

But to be honest with you I wouldn't trust these, they've tended to be very optimistic.

If you don't like what you see you can always port your number to another carrier.

I can say for a fact that my family has been through several areas of Champaign (we have family east of there) and rural parts of Illinois several miles away from I-74 with our Verizon phones and we have not had a problem. We cannot say how Cingular's network is in that area.

Remember to check coverage wherever you will be (indoor, outdoors, etc).

KingKong....I was in Champaign earlier this year for 3 months. I got just about full bars everywhere I went.....however, it seemed like there were alot of cut outs....where I would have to ask people to repeat themselves. This happened while I was outside....and inside the apartment I was staying in. Sometimes it got annoying. It may vary depending on what part of town you will be in. I would say move there....and check out how it works for you before dumping it or keeping it....just to know for sure ;)
