I live in southern CA but I'm planning on visiting Hanover, NH. I looked up the T-mobile coverage area and it says that it is a roaming area. I have the family plan with free nationwide roaming, but i was wondering how it would appear on the bill. Would it give the location? Would it be different for incoming and outgoing calls? Thanks
Hello, and welcome to WA! For t-mobile, any domestic (inside the US) roaming usage will show up just like any other call both on your bill and online. I'm sure 99.99% that t-mobile will not distinguish between the two. Also, it will not indicate a location. Enjoy NH!
t-mobile didn't indicate location but i'm pretty sure they did indicate that it was roaming......Sprint used to indicate location on the old P2K system but on the new ENSEMBLE system i dont think it does.
I looked at an old t-mobile bill when I was roaming and there was nothing to indicate that my usage was roaming. So I'm pretty sure, unless something is different for G1 users, that it doesn't indicate roaming. As for Sprint, yes the old P2K billing system used to separate roaming usage and even indicated the city and State in which the calls were made. When everyone was moved over to ensemble, this stopped. There was no separation between roaming usage and non roaming usage. NOW, Sprint indicates roaming usage under the rate type category. For example, if you roam, it will put on the code "AM" which means - Off Network - Included in America Plan.
The only thing that indicates your roaming is the carrier name changing on the phone. In NH, you will probably be on RCC/Unicel. Like Wump said, while roaming billing isnt any different and calls appear like you made them from home.
tmobiles billing is summarized so you will only see calls that your charged for on your bill, unless you have the regional 3000 plan all others are free roaming nationwide Posted from my g1
