Actually, Verizon is MUCH better than Sprint.

I get 3/4 bars in my house.....full signal in my neighborhood.

On my campus, I force my phone to use Alltel (800 MHz) since it is usually a stronger signal.

But outside, I get 3/4 bars on Alltel's network.....and 3/4 bars on the outskirts of my campus (where one of my classes is at).

My friend has T-Mobile on my campus and she can't get a signal inside or outside on my campus.

But T-Mobile works good at the Circuit City store about 2 miles from my house....so it would probably work in my house.

But the bad thing about T-Mobile is that their is no coverage (native or included) where we go on vacations (in Northern Wisconsin).

Did you have a good time in Paris, Airb?

Did you ride the Metro? See the Louvre?

I really liked Paris (a lot) when I went there with my family in July of 1999. :)

Yes, I had a blast. Saw almost everything, cept the Eiffel Tower (did ithe first 2 levels in 2002) cuz the top was closed, and the catacombs were closed. I really thought you tried Verizon last year and it didn't work. Did they add a tower maybe?

    Cool.....glad you had a fun time. :)

Yes.....we did try Verizon in November of 2003.

It worked perfectly at our house....but on my campus the phone wouldn't even get a roaming signal from Alltel's towers.

The 8000 gets a strong Alltel signal when I force the phone to it, and the Verizon signal is strong by a building on the outskirts of my campus (where my M, W class is located).

So Verizon is now definitely the king....plus we got almost a full signal at our house (-81 db's compared to Sprint's -104 db's). :) :D

I am aware that Sprint has had promos in the not so distant past where they have issued credits to port lines over. While not covering the full cost of the ETF , they do "ease the pain" somewhat. Typically these have been offered to Business accounts. There is not one of these promos going at present, as far as I know, but it has happened at least twice in the past 6 months. But it may not always be offered thru all Sprint sales channels, just selected ones. Usually the promo is available for about 30-45 days. The best one I am aware of was up to $75 per line. So it doesn't hurt to ask.

Well Sprint credited our account for both of the ETF fees in mid January (around the 18th of this year).

We have been with Verizon ever since them (Jan. 22) and their coverage is awesome.

    Thanks for mentioning that though.

    I didn't even know about that. ;)

Could always wait til dark, go to that tower that is 3 to 4 miles away. Loosen the bolts on the panels and turn them in your direction. =) Should at least fix your problem for a while.

I'll add to it, lol, glad you're still happy with VZW. You need to keep us up to date on new VZW towers going up in your area this year, since there have been press releases out on your area :)
