How do I access AOL Instant Messaging on my Samsung A900? When I select the service in the menu, and go to it, my A900 says the following message:

"We're sorry, this item is unavailable"

How do I register for this service through AOL (see below)?

The rep. that I e-mailed said the following about the included service:

Regarding the AOL and MSN service, these services are free from Sprint.
You need to contact AOL or MSN customer service to enroll for that. You can visit the AOL website for more information.

Does anyone know how I go about registering for these free unlimited services for my Sero plan?

I registered my phone on the Mobile AIM section of AOL's website, but I still can't access it through my phone. I don't want to use the forwarding service (since that uses text messages). Isn't there built-in software that will allow me to IM (since it is unlimited according to my plan)? If so, how do I register and enable it on my account like the rep. said?

    Thanks in advance.

Nope, there is no built in AIM program. It is all web based, and can be access via Vision Home Page>1. Messaging>1. Instant Messanging>1. AOL Instand Messenger>1. Sign on

OR, if you want to play the bad boy game...here you go. Here you will find applications of all sorts for your sprint phone. Enjoy.

Ok. Thanks for your help Yankees.

Is it still unlimited like the rep said?

Would I get in trouble if I use these applications? If not, how do I go about installing them?

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Yeah, the web based version of AIM is free as long as you are paying for vision. Otherwise, you will be charged for casual data access.

As for installing all those wonderful programs, there should be an FAQ file in there. Yup, open up the README file, that should explain everything.

And dont worry about spring knowing, they wont.

Have you personally used any of the programs in the folder? If so, what programs have you used?

I've used a few of them before. The AIM program, ESPN bottom line, Garmin mobile. The only problem i have had is with garmin mobile, but that is a phone problem, not the program. All files, as far as i know, are legit and ripped from a phone.

Ok. So I assume that these programs use data. So since I have a data program, then I should be ok, right?

The programs use data to download to the phone. After that, some require vision access, and some do not. You are on SERO plan, so you dont need to worry about a thing. :D

You do know what you are talking about.

I downloaded AIM, The Weather Channel (I love the animated radars), and Garmin Mobile (it shows where my house is, even though it is 300 feet off, but still it is real time since I have GPS set to on :D).

Thanks again for your help Yankees.

    Erik

Yes, I would high recommend getting the data plan. If you use the applications a lot, the data kb would add up quickly. If you have unlimited data, then you shouldn't have to worry about the charges (unless they don't count for these apps). I guess I will find out when I get my next bill.
