    In 1976 (when the story below began) I was age 25. I remember all those events and always felt Steve Jobs was an arrogant jerk. Steve Woz was the real brains of the invention. Jobs was an astute businessman and charismatic marketeer but still made several blunders.

    True enough, Jobs was arrogant. And about the same age as us.

    But left to Woz, he would have sold his computers for a few dollars above cost, would have ever come away from PARC with a vision for the future ( just as Bill Gates didn't see it coming).

    Steve was tough, arrogant but had a vision and determination to push the envelope, hire the right people, and make a vision into a business.

    Listening to Woz speak today, it's clear that Apple would have fizzled out 35 years ago.

    They needed each other.
