Hi guys, this is my first post.. found the site while tracing infomation on upgrading to a new phone.

I'll explain a little on what i am looking for and you professionals give me your opionion.

I am looking for the best phone for all 3 worlds. Phone, MP3, Camera. I am a professional DJ (www.jeremyganss.com) and need the MP3 function when i am doing client consultations. I know i could go out and buy a MP3 player, but if i don't need to i would rather not. I also would like a good quality camera with the phone. Truthfully i fell in love with the Sony Ericsson K790a but it is not supported by Verizon. This then lead me to the Samsung SCH-a990. Looks like a great phone with a 3.2 MP cam and MP3 player, well sort of. The a990 only plays WMP files and not mp3's. Now you have to convert your mp3's into wmp files to play then on your phone.

I have been doing a lot of looking just to find that the phones i REALLY want are not supported by verizon.

Can you help me out any?

    thanks!

Look at the Samsung A970. It has a MP3 player as well as a Windows player; also it has a 2 (I think) megapixel camera as well. They just reduced the price to $100 for new customers. Also, the LG Chocolate ($150) has a MP3 player as well but it has a 1.3 Megapixel camera.

In my opinion you are going about the process the wrong way. What I think you really should be doing is finding out the carrier with the best coverage for your needs and then select a phone.

The main advantage of selecting a phone before the carrier is that you might end up with the coolest paperweight in your neighborhood.

Not sure where you got this information from or who told you that, but Verizon doesn't just take your nights and weekends away because you upgrade to any phone, whether it be the chocolate phone or not.

That was the information on their verizonwireless site. I called and talked to a rep andhe said that it is a webpage issue they are sorting out.

I did end up going with the chocolate phone. Will see how it ends up.. worse comes to worse is i will just sell it on fleabay and find somthing else.

thanks for all the help guys...

Will there be "hacks" "SEEMS" (not sure if i have that right) on the Chocolate phone? I read that verizon has turned off some features on this phone like they do on the Razor.

Great advice. I have been with Verizon for 2 years now and i love the service, but had my heart set on the Sony phone.... Oh well... the chocolate cant be all that bad...

One of the bigges complants is that it looks messy from your fingerprints.. LOL think i can deal with that.

If I was told that my N&W minutes were being taken away I would take them away.

You will like the camera and display of the Chocolate, but I personally don't like the battery life of mine and reception definitely isn't as good as on my Motorolas.
