    Hallo people...

I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm definitely looking forward to being apart of this community and learning some nifty stuff. I'm in the market for a new phone from Verizon and was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what I should get. Cost is not really a concern. Does anyone know of what phones are coming out on Verizon for Q3?

    Danke!

Hey, Welcome to WA. This is an interesting forum. Anyway, I would suggest checking out www.phonescoop.com. PhoneScoop has a section dedicated to phones. You could go there to check out what phones are being considered for release and possibly when and possibly what carrier. Good luck to you.

Below is a link the the phone section at PhoneScoop. It's broken down by phone manufacturer.

    Hi, & welcome to WA!!!

I say if cost is no issue, go for a Treo 650!!! It's awesome if you want both a phone and a planner all in 1 handy device!!!

A word to the wise, though... You will want to invest $9 into a program called VolumeCare. That'l kick up the volume on the phone immensely!!!

    Good luck!!!

yes... it is a real downer that Palm didn't address that issue from the get-go.

I have wanted the T650 for so long, & it was hard the first couple days having sub-par volume issues. Now that I have VolumeCare, that is now a non-issue!!!

hey electrobot & welcome to WA!

Once you take a look & decide on what features you want/need e.g. camera phone, reception etc; you can post it.
Then others here may give more phone specific tips.
But sounds like you're looking for the newest phone !

I'm definitely looking to have a cool phone. I'd like it to have a camera and internet access. I think I might hold off on getting a new phone for another month...just in case any new ones come out. I just wish that Verizon had some cooler phones than they do now. GAH! :)

    welcome electrobot:

I wouldn't reccomend the razor, sure its a great phone, but its not very appealing to the average consumer, and it also has a HUGE radiation output because of the size. I would go with a Samsung for a newbie verizon phone, they're pretty reliable.

The RAZR is very appealing to the average consumer. Just look to Motorola's latest financial report for this proof. As to your odd statement regarding radiation output, selecting the Samsung a890 and using the FCC SAR report for the lower spectrum and V3 report for the lower GSM spectrum finds that the SAR findings are .88 and .89 respectively for ear to head. The government approved safety level of 1.6. To sum it up, the radiation output for both of these phones are identical!

As to the newbie remark, the original poster never stated he was new to cell phones or Verizon. In fact, he indicated the opposite.

I love exageration. The V3 is not in the 10 ten highest radiation phones to start with. Highest

The RAZR has a rating of .089. Look at the company you suggested, Samsung. Doesn't look too good in the radiation dept. Samsubng Ratings

The Razr should be the top seller for VZW this holiday season provided that the promise is kept that it will be released. I can't think of any other phone that can compete with it in terms of looks.

I know someone that has the razr for cingular and he hated the phone so much he threw it at a wall. He has a different cell now and is much happier. I dont think I would go for the razr...I'd rather have a phone thats more like a mini computer. The Samsung SCH-i730 is really cool looking and smaller than the audiovox but from what I've read on phonescoop its not a good phone...so im up in the air. I dont really want to wait until the end of the year for a new phone but who knows. I wish we had access to Orange's phones here...they have the best damn phones I've ever seen....the rest of the world is lucky lol. :)

    Hi electrobot,

Welcome to WA! The CDMA Razr has been discussed here:

    http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/showthread.php?t=7707

New phones are just like computers, there's always something new coming out except with phones, it's easier to predict since they are announced well in advance.

    :)
