Due to injuries, Chicago Black Hawks trainer Moe Roberts took over in goal during a 6-2 victory vs. Detroit on Nov. 24, 1951. Roberts, 45, was at the time the oldest player to ever play in an NHL game.
The Stanley Cup is the oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America. Lord Stanley Preston purchased the Cup for about $50, and in 1893 presented it to the amateur champions in Canada. The Cup has been competed for by NHL teams only since the 1926-27 season.

In 1992 Tom Barrasso and Ed Belfour tied for the NHL record of most consecutive playoff wins in the same season, both notching 11 victories in a row... of course Tom Barrasso and the Pittsburgh Penguins swept the Blackhawks in four games to win the Stanley Cup and all Belfour got was the record but hey, who's counting?
