Yeah, I feel like I'm in a darn commercial. Stupid ATM ate my card yesterday and I actually forgot about it. Well...PNC Bank called me to alert me of fraud. Sure enough, the card must have popped out eventually and someone went on a wild-arrse spending spree. They tried Acme (Albertsons), but they declined it (way to go Acme!!). However, the person went to every gas station in town and cleaned out my account. PNC said the money should be back tomorrow, after they see all the posted charges. I hope the polcie gets this person. No one at PNC has mentioned charges...I guess I need to call the cops? The person obviously has to be on tape at the ATM and ACME and the gas stations!
Wow I am sorry to hear about this. This similar thing has happened to me except I was on the other side of things. I went to fill me car with gas and there was a card sitting there in the slot. The people must have forgotten it. Well I didn't go in and give it to the gas station because I didn't want it in their hands. So I called the 1-800 number on back and told them what happened. They got in contact with the people, 15 minutes later the people came to get it I checked some ID to make sure it was them. They tried giving me a reward but I said "no that is fine". But I could tell by the way the people had reacted that it would be no fun to loose something like this. But for sure call those gas stations that the person used your card at and get the security camera tapes and see if they can pin point the person out.
One a funny note-I went on a two day trip to Nevada on my motorcycle. Well on a motorcycle you have to fill up more than a car. Well the credit card company called me and saked if I was ok and I said yeah why. Well they thought someone had stolen my card and went crazy at gas stations everywhere. The lady just laughed when she found out that I was on my motorcycle. But for that split second I about crapped my pants thinking that something bad had happened when they called me. But here is one thing to do and rememeber about a credit/debit card. If a machine eats it or you loose it call the company right away and have it cancelled.
It's never any fun to have your credit/debit card in someone else's hands. My wife used to leave her wallet in her car's glove box until it was broken into. They didn't get the car, but I had to call and cancel her credit card and check card. Not to mention the hassle of replacing her driver's license and the car window. They got her Blockbuster card too, but never used it. Anyway, glad to hear everything is alright.
That stinks, it should be okay but you've got to update us if they catch this stupid . Who doesn't know that ATMs & gas stations have cameras?
Yeah, good to hear everything is ok. Visa actually calls me whenever I spend my tax refund. Its kinda nice to know they care.
Airb you should also consider contacting your credit report (Experian, etc.) agencies and have a fraud alert posted. You will be able to obtain a free credit report and monitor the account. These people sometimes write down the account numbers and then go right back at it again when you don't expect it. You may want to cancel this account to do away with the threat. I have taken some fraud trainings and this is always recommended.
Good advice from PR dealer. You can do it all online at http://www.experian.com and http://www.equifax.com and http://www.transunion.com My wife had her purse stolen a few years ago.
Thanks. The card was through PNC Bank...my bank. It's not a credit card, so it cannot affect my credit scores. The money stolen, roughly 84$, hasn't even been drawn out of my account yet, and most likely will not be. If it is...it'll be reinbursed. Of course...I'd like a free credit report lol. Last time I was like 35 points off a perfect scrore...I'd like to see what I am now (should be same or better). I'm going to call my local branch tomorrow. The ###'s on the debit card do not match my bank account, nor any other credit cards like MBNA or Chase. Thank goodness! me :inlove: PNC Bank. Sucks that if I move west or to FL...I'll have to switch as they are a Pittsburg, Wilmington, Philly, DC bank.
Dude, it's Pittsburgh not Pittsburg... Pittsburgh without the "h" (Pittsburg) is Pittsburg, Kansas not the greatest city on Earth, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. No one wants to go to Pittsburg, Kansas, trust me, I've been there before.
Jeez....Manhattan, Pittsburg(no H)? What is Kansas trying to do?? Trick people into thinking they just drove out of the cornfield into "Beautiful ____________" (fill in blank with appropriate city). :lmao:
Be on the lookout for the following: Atlanta, KS San Francisco, KS Chicago, KS London, KS Taipei, KS Tel Aviv, KS Tokyo, KS
Not all banks will charge fees immediately. Keep checking your statement for next few months. Aren't you responsible for the first 50 bucks then its the bank?
No, not on this card, thank goodness. Either way, PNC Bank would probably not charge the 50$. Still no real information except an affadavid (sp?) is coming this way. I don't think anyone wants to visit either Pittsburg(h)!
Oi! Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is the greatest city in the world! I'll challenge anyone who says different to a phone duel. :boxingsmi
I have been through their on train (in the middle of the night around 12:00 a.m. in the morning), and I have been to their airport. Overall, it is a good city, but of all my favorite cities, I vote for Chicago.
