    Hey all
I got those lg 8300 phones for my parents and I'm suprising them tomorrow...but I thought I could put some tones on them using my transflash card. It sees the card..but I can't get a list to pop up anywhere with the list of whats on the card to copy it and move it to the phone memory. All I get is through the vcast thing and it says sync between phone and cable (I don't have a cable for it) it also comes up and says format the card..but if I do that..won't all the clips be erased?

can anyone help? the initial activation hasn't been done on these yet either and it won't until tomorrow after they get here otherwise their existing phones won't work and I think they'll figure out somethings up.

Please help if you can! Thanks

I have no idea with the 8300. My guess would be that you may need that stupid Music Essentials Kit(which I heard is a waste of money) to do this. Otherwise it will still see your transflash card, but pop up empty...that's just what I've heard, never tried it myself.
What you could do(but that's after activation) is send the ringtones from an email to the phone...that's what I always do, and you can save it as a rington right there.

You can use bitpim and either a usb cable or bluetooth to transfer the ringtones to the phone.

I used bluetooth to transfer ringtones to my friend's phone.

I forgot about Bitpim...yes, that program works very well to transfer ringtones and images.

    Okay thanks all!
I know about the sending ringtones and that works too...was just trying to do it without doing all that.

I'll probably get a data cable down the road for them off of ebay.... that way they can take their pics off etc.

Just weird that they won't just transfer from the card to the phone.... MY MOTO does! :loony: I swear mine is the easiest phone on earth to transfer pics, songs, music, video.. you name it! too.

Thanks again! and if anyone hears of a magic secret will ya mail me ?? :browani:

    You are welcome!
I believe that's because your Moto is from T-Mobile is not crippled like Verizon phones. ;)

ah ha! those b*stards anyway Verizon! LOL It's not like they don't have enough money that they have to make us pay more to get the basic things right???

I'll just get them a data cable off of ebay and for the time being do the send the tones over email. pretty soon they will shut that off too I'm sure ;)
