Thanks sheureka! It is a cool site, I have known about it since I owned my T-Mobile PPCPE a year and a half ago. I am set on getting the 6600, I think its a better device for me then the 650. But if I can get a much better deal on a 650 (Earthlink Price Match) I will go for that.
If you can wait, I'm sure there will be a price drop on the 6600 as soon as the 6700 is released. Should be sometime in the next 2 months. - sheureka
Wait, not me! I went to Vegas yesterday and got one. After using the demos their was no doubt that the 6600 was the one. I was able to get a extra 15% off the price, and had the phone billed to my account. I would of waited, but the end of the year (Nov/Dec) isn't a good time for me to buy things for me. Plus Sprint dosen't seem to drop prices on PDA devices quickly, like they do on phones (treo 600/50 for example). I love streaming KNAC.COM on the 6600. It made me forget that I was waiting in line for the bus at the horrible Grayhound Station in downtown Vegas. I can't wait to start playing with it, but I have to charge it.
Apparently, there is the new HTC Apache on the way for those CDMAers out there: http://phonearena.com/htmls/HTC-Apache-the-CDMA-version-of-the-Wizard-article-a_643.html http://phonearena.com/htmls/Preview-of-the-HTC-Apache-or-PPC-6700-article-a_662.html Among the key features is the spec sheet listing EVDO capabilities.
Yep, the 6700 for Sprint. Late September / October release And the Sprint 6600 is EVDO capable with a ROM update, while the Verizon 6600 already is capable.
Are you going for it, budney ? I'm planning on updating my MDA II's ROM and radio versions since I'm probably to going use it for school next week. Now if I could only find an SDIO WLAN card for it, then I'd be all set since my job training school has a free WLAN access option for people attending their 3-week school block.
I don't think so. It is not worth it, since my area dosen't have EV-DO yet. And by Sprint's time line we won't see it untill 2007. It is more like a hack any way from what I have been reading about it. Also Sprint may release an offical update for the 6600 next year.
