Picked it up about an hour ago. Great phone, sounds great, looks great, feels great lol. Speaker kinda stinks for ringtones though. Oh well. Got the 400 AC plan with 3$ sms plan. Dad bought it for me for my HS grad present, though I am paying for the monthly fees. Bye bye freeup
Airb - Were you able to keep the phone number that you had on your pre-paid phone when you changed over to post paid? I know that was an issue we had discussed before.
Had to get a new one, kinda pissed about that. I had that # for 1.5 years. I couldn't even get a 382 prefix, I had to get a new one . My last 4 digits are easy though 8808; the guy looked for the easiest one he had available to him at least.
At least you got a cool number. I would freak out if I lost my current number, I have had it since '91.
I'm still using FreeUp but now that I've graduated from college, I was thinking about getting a rate plan. Then I realized I don't use my phone anywhere near enough to justify $35+ a month instead of $15-25 a month. My T300's weak vibrate mode was starting to bug me(sometimes i didn't notice it vibrating in my pocket) so I decided to see how much a decent new phone would cost me at the Verizon store. Expecting to have to pay $200+ for a phone I wanted, or to settle for a phone I wasn't crazy about I walked in only to find that they were selling the A310 to FreeUp customers for $130. I've had it for like a week and really like it, plus I sold my T300 on ebay for $70 bucks. I'm sure I'll go to a rate plan at some point, but it just doesn't make sense to be wasting money on something I won't use for now.
LOL, yeah...I am stupid now thanks to my cell phone. I don't know hardly any phone numbers anymore. I have all my contacts stored in my computer because if I lost my phone I would be in big trouble.
What's scary Matt is that I have no idea what my girlfriends phone number is and we have been going out for like 2 months. I never had to dial it, I stored it in my phone the night I met her and when I want to call her I use speed dial. Good thing I have it backed on my computer in case my phone dies *LOL*
Yeah, I understand. In college everyone I call will be long distance (GREEDY VERIZON...even 10 miles away is LD from my college in Delaware ). I am ticked off at them though, they have already screwed my billing up....
Sorry to hear about the billing mistakes...all I can say is welcome to the family. Congrats on your graduation!
I've had VW NE since BAM and w/FM. I had a NJ phone#, when I moved to the Boston area, I kept it for a year. Talk about roaming/LD Just that when my friends called me from next door, it was LD The 10 miles away thing isn't the fault of cell phone companies. I work as a hospital operator. I get complaints patients all the time. We only allow local calls . Otherwise, RT and LD have to be credit card or collect. I have to explain it has to do more with physical distance and not area code. The phone companies have split up the #'s into 3 categories. 1. Local (usually 5-6 miles from where you are calling - sometimes more); 2. Regional Toll (between local and LD); 3. Long Distance. A few years ago (4), when i lived in Schwartswood, NJ, I shutoff my RT (thought is was part of LD). I could call the next town (Newton), which was about 6 miles away, but couldn't call work (morristown) about 35 miles away. I could call Elgin, Il though.
