everything's pretty much the same between 19C and 19D, but one major different in 19D is that it fixed the anonying noise I had when I used my headset. Now my T720 is *perfect*, for the first time! [IMG]

Hey how did you get the 19D? Did you go to a local verizon store to get it flashed? Or did you get a postcard or something? I sometimes hear that static with my headset as well. I would like to get it fixed, it gets annoying at times.

Ayn, that's great news! I've been working with my Verizon store for over a week on the static deal. They finally gave up and just want to sell me some huge gauky headset with a mic volume control on it. Earlier this week I put in an internet request for help through Moto's site, but I have gotten nothing from them. I was thinking of buying one of those expensive speaker-phone attachments because I really don't like having to hold the phone to my head. With my old phone I even used the headset at home because you can move around freely. I'm going to print this, take it to the store, and ask them to get my phone upgraded from 19c to 19d now!

sorry for the late reply, haven't been checking this board for a while. I just called my local store and talked to the technicians, I talked to her before about the problem and she seemed to know her stuff... she said 19D seemed to have fixed the static noise problem with headsets, so I went in and had the phone flashed to 19D. And my phone's been working quite well since then. I can use the headset now again, which is very important as I used to pretty much use the headset to talk exclusively.

the technician mentioned several times that it helps to have a Motorola headset, I really don't see why it has to be a MOT one. I bot mine at MOT's website for my last phone so it is indeed OEM.

    Hi:

I'm new to this forum and I am sooo happy to have found some people who not only have the phone but also have intelligent and helpful things to say. [IMG] Enough sucking up !!! [IMG] I have had my phone since November 26th and I do love it!!

I would like to know what I have to say to get these Verizon folks to give me the upgraded software!! I went into the Verizon store last weekend and asked if there was an upgrade and the tech looked at my software (19C) and said I had the latest. What gives!? They don't want to do any additional work or something? I guess if I get an upgrade "just because there is one" I'll tell a friend and they'll tell a friend and so on and so on and everyone would be going there to get an upgrade.

I don't have a headset but was thinking of getting one. I have had dropped calls and static in the ear piece when on a call and just recently my reminders decided not to work, but I thought that was just the way it went with any service provider sometimes. I don't think these would be valid enough arguments to get a software upgrade. And hell, I shouldn't have to present an argument, they should offer it!!

Any suggestions and any help is greatly appreciated!!

    Thanx[IMG]

I got the update to 19D and I still have static! It's exactly the same as before.

Moto's only response to my inquiry for help was to ask if I've used a Moto headset. Verizon didn't have any Moto headsets in their store nor did Radio Shack. I finally found one at another cell provider's store, and they let me try the Moto headset before buying it. Guess what? I still had the identical static/squeaking noise on the Moto headset! I haven't heard anything else from Moto since informing them that it didn't work.

The only headset that seems to work at all is this one Verizon sold me from Plantronics. It has a control for the microphone volume (Not the speaker volume, but the volume level that it transmits my voice). Putting that on the lowest setting seems to help and prevent the static/squeaking noise about 80% of the time, but it doesn't always work for some reason. Even at the lowest setting, no one has had any problem hearing my voice, so it's still plenty high.

Now it appears the static is coming from some kind of programming issue with having the microphone volume on the phone way too high.

I really wish 19D or even a Moto headset would have just fixed it, but I haven't been as lucky as you. [IMG]
