does anyone Remember tre good Old days When AT&T Wireless gave you free Minutes on holidays? I think Cingular should bring that back Don't You?
Yes I remember and if you happen to be on one of those old plans still, you should still get them free. I think most of the carriers offered this back quite a few years ago & I guess they didn't feel it was worth them offering this anymore. At least holidays that are on the weekend are free minutes.
No. When I had AT&T, back in 1998, it was a digital one rate plan. I don't think I got any free minutes. Around 2000 I switched to Sprint PCS.
Wirelessly posted (Q's Mobile Device: Nokia6010/1.0 (8.62) Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0) I had the Blue GoPhone and I had free holiday calling. This wasn't advertised. I found out when I made several calls and no money was deducted from my balance. I remember that USCellular offered that feature also... But they exited my market 2 years ago  Almost 4got... I had the easypay service on vzw and I had free holiday calling last year... I was on the phone all day on the 4th of July... And then vzw had 2 kill the feature when I signed the contract
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: LG-CU500 Obigo/WAP2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0) Yeah those were sweet.
Yeah, I remember the good old days when I walked around with a TDMA StarTac that only lasted half a day before I had to recharge it, and constantly forcing it into analog mode to make calls in fringe areas. -Jay
I had the CDMA StarTac with Sprint, that was the phone I got when I switched to Sprint. good times.....good times
I dont think I have ever had anything free on a holiday. Back when I had voice stream, I didnt even have night minutes.
as far as i know......tmobile still carries on that tradition......some plans dont have nights and your "nights" count towards your anytime minutes. Although some of the plans do have weekends, some of the low-end individual plans dont have them.
I remember when my sister had VoiceStream in the early 90's. I was on a Regional CellularONE DC/Baltimore plan and my sister had "Nationwide no roaming". We drove from her house in Stafford, Va to Richmond for a day trip. Just past Fredericksburg (About 20 miles away from her house) her phone switched to NO SERVICE, and stayed there. My phone switched to roaming at Doswell, Va. It was fun. I told her that I may be roaming, but at least I could make a call. She got rid of that phone not long after that. -Jay
haha....yeah at his point they need to take a nationwide glance to get by in todays markets......regional plans werent what the standard person wanted.....ohhh well......things have definitely changed since then thats all i got to say
My wife's phone was Voice Stream....but it was someone else before Voice Stream bought them. Powertell? I think that was it. Voice Stream bought Powertell, then Voice Stream became TMobile....something like that. Anyway yes...the Powertell/Voice Stream foot print in the South was not very good.
