Wow, thanks. That thread is a godsend. The only thing is is that now I can't get MPT to recognize my V3mM, meaning it can't recognize it (it can be detected) and I can't find V3mM on the device list. can I just use V3cM? I read somewhere about how sometimes programs view them the same way...

I transferred my first ringtone succesfully. Thanks so much for all your help, both on this forum and in the past ones that you posted on the internet.

I was previously able to go as far as getting mpt to see my v3m and have contact syncing options, but now it won't even install the drivers to recognize it as a usb modem. I think I may have made a bad seem edit when trying to get mpt to recognize it as a v3mm. Any thing I could try to see if I did make a bad seem edit or any suggestions to connect it again?

Also, I updated MPT to the latest the day before my pc stopped recognizing it, now MPT is back at 4.03. I think this might be because I was shutting my computer just by holding the power off button for a few seconds because until last night my computer wouldn't shut off any other way (I looked up a command line execution thing and use it now). Anyway MPT reverted to an earlier version the same night the pc stopped recognizing the razr as the Motorola USB Device. Suggestions appreciated please please and thanks

sounds like u need to run the drivertool4.21a again back on the first page. also, make sure u dont have comflicdting programs open at the same time, such as having mpt open when trying to use MSU, and vice versa. MSU goes with p2kseem. MPT needs to be run on its own.

I've tried driver tool many times... :/ When windows looks for drivers to install it never finds them however.

What if u choose to manually install them from a specific location (advanced), then choose "have disk" and browse to where you have the drivers (usually C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\usbsermpt) and it shoudl install the correct drivers. Does that do any good?

I have spent the past four days digesting this forum- as I discovered how to seem my V3M. I just had to write and tell you how pleased I was to get everything working as you so patiently outlined. The questions were very valuable too, as they helped clarify many points.

Thank you so much for taking this so seriously and working with some of us who have never attempted such a fearful thing as hacking a new phone.

    With deep respect and appreciation.

:loony: Ok, I followed the instructions and I can get my verizon razr v3m to start charging (the screen shows the phone in device manager under modems exactly like your picture), but I can't get it to sync with wmp 11. I restarted the computer and ran mtpfix and it says removing devices then done! What am I doing wrong?

    Help please!

Ok, I downloaded and installed the USB Driver Tool, the USB Device Driver and the Motorola Software Updater but when I plug in the phone the pc find's new hardware "Motorola Communication Interface" and it can't find the drivers even though I point to the folder that I placed them in.

Nope, with the advent of the Alltel v3m firmware coming out, any progress came to a halt.

OK this seems like the right forum to be in......i did whatever was posted on the first page of this topic...but instead of getting "Found Motorola V3c" and then say "Found Motorola USB Modem" i get "Found Motorola V3c" and then it asks for drivers. I downloaded the V3c drivers and pointed the wizard to the folder but nothing I try works. I'm completely lost right now, any help would be appreciated.

Oh and by the way, all that was done while I had WMP 10. I have WMP 11 right now.

Oh itz a wrap, my phone is working like a charm now, I had to turn it off when installing the drivers to get it to charge then keep it off while using the "mtpfix". Works perfect with WMP 11. All thanks to you guys for having the necessary files posted.
