I just learned about getting AIM on my phone, but only wonder one thing before I pay to download the program: is there a continuous usage fee? As in, will I have to pay monthly and/or pay for every message just like TXT Messaging (or IS this TXT Messaging)?

The Instant Messaging app from Get It Now is one of the only free apps I saw. No monthly subscription fee. You do get charged for the messages the same as Text Messaging though. I don't know if there is any time deducted from your minute. I have only used it a few times. It does work real good though.

some of the phones (IE samsung) have a little program built into the phone to let you use AIM, i think that takes air time instead of txt messages.

the app is free, downloading the app takes up what ever air time minuet(s) apply.

using the apps cost the same as txt messaging. (.02$ to recieve messages/buddy lists and .10$ to send messages and reqest buddy lists)

Can I use my unlimited text mesaging plan to use getIM? Or will Verizon screw me over by still charging the 20 cents?

Is getIM a VZW customer? No. Your unlimited TXT plan won't apply. And VZW charges 10 cents now for all TXT messages that aren't included by a plan.
