I normally have a couple of cans of either Bumblebee, or Chicken of the Sea tuna in the cupboard. I am glad I caught the recall

Dinner at The Harbor House in Milwaukee. As the name suggests, it is located at the Milwaukee harbor.

I had a glass of Pinot Grigio, caesar salad and the calamari - it was perfect.

The view was quite enjoyable inspite of being a cloudy day.

Oh man! I completely forgot about this thread. 3 weeks ago a friend and his wife took me and my wife to a little hole-in-the-ground town called Port Costa to a restaurant named Bull Valley Roadhouse. While the food was delicious, the most unique was the "spritzer" (carbonated, flavored water) they sold for 12.50 a glass. I had the cucumber & jalapeno water. It was both refreshing and not as spicy hot as I expected. But $12 for a glass of water! Ridiculous. Menu

As a kid, our drugstore had a soda fountain and use to sell Phosphate Soda for 10 cents. I think that's what you paid $12 for.

@palandri: Yup. This is just one more example proving my theory that businesses love to s-c-r-e-w their customers. Forget fair and reasonable. Forget honest. And don't dare call me a "guest" in your establishment -- that's just an insult.

Thanks, I'll give it a whirl sometime. Don't have the patience to smoke things like ribs or shoulder properly, so usually limit smoking to fish/poultry. 2 hours sounds doable :D

Salmon looks lovely. Been smoking on pecan chips lately, a switch from mesquite. Can't really say I prefer one over another, both are great IMHO.

Went to the Crazy Crab tonight for dinner. It's a Cajun restaurant. Ordered Beignets (French pronounced, Ben -Yeah) which is a fried pastry dough and Cajun shrimp, they were very hot, but excellent. Minimum order is 1lbs of seafood, so I split the shrimp with my wife

Labor Day Weekend Fest. I wish I would have taken a better picture. The one I took doesn't do the food justice. Texas de Brazil http://www.texasdebrazil.com/ a Brazilian Steakhouse, had a food booth setup at the fest. The sample plate had Garlic Picanha, which is garlic infused steak (rightside), Bacon wrapped chicken (upper leftside) and Brazilian sausage (bottom leftside).

I love the garlic picanha. We have a Brazilian steakhouse close by and occasionally treat ourselves to a visit. The biggest problem with it is that when your body can afford to eat there, your wallet can't; and by the time the wallet catches up, your body refuses to cash in the check

@palandri: I reviewed your last several food pics. One of the best you've taken is of the wrap with potato tarts. The one feature it has that none of the other did was that you presented it from a somewhat side view as opposed to directly overhead. Another helpful hint is to try to reduce the unnecessary elements in the image (utensils, furniture, people). Finally, if you need to use flash, use some sort of makeshift diffuser to scatter the light and prevent white glare (even a kleenex will work). I've found that natural light is usually best, though. (This picture was a bit too much overhead for my liking, but I was trying to reduce the distracting elements.)

I keep forgetting to take pictures! (Taking food pics was never something to do before social media. And besides, mine turned out looking exactly as shown in the video.)

I made this dish and it was delicious. At first I was reluctant because I just didn't think that Parmesan cheese would be good with egg. But I will make it again.

Ok, I finally remembered to take some pictures. And since I don't really eat out at anywhere noteworthy, I'm reduced to showing my cooking skills. I took the omelet video I shared recently and made some alterations. To the grated parmesan, I added some Sargento Mexican Cheese. I also chopped some green onions. First I caramelized the cheeses (per video), then I added the eggs, salt and pepper, and chopped onions; covered and cooked. (See attached image -- and yes, I know, I broke my own rule about photographing overhead. In this, it seemed necessary.)
