Say CHEESE! From a quaint little place called home. Crunchy cheese on outside, scrumptious melted cheese on the inside. Recipe here
Took my husband out to eat at his favorite restaurant Bacchus, to celebrate his birthday. I had the wild mushroom soup and the Mediterranean Sea Bass while he had the same soup and Veal Loin. They did a low key birthday acknowledgement for him consisting of a special dessert with a candle. Here is all that was left of the dinner: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A popular late morning breakfast dish in some parts of India, is call "Dosa". It comes in two varieties typically - a sada (white/plain) dosa or a masala (spicy) dosa. The masala dosa is filled with spicy potatoes. Dosa My favorite is the sada dosa, it is similar to crepe but not quite. It's pretty unique and is typically served with sambar (spicy lentil with vegetables) and coconut chutney. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We normally do Chinese Takeout on Sunday night for dinner. We have about a dozen Chinese restaurant within a 5 mile radius of our house and we have tried them all, but only 2 have really good Chinese food. There was one by us that had really bad Chinese food. The first time we went there it looked like a dump inside and our fried rice had uncooked rice. Nothing like biting down on hard rice. They closed and reopened about a year later, so we tried them again and the food was still really bad. They closed after 6 months and it stayed vacant for about a year. They recently reopened, redid the exterior and the interior. I was hesitant to try them again, but we tried them again. Wow! What a difference. We ordered chicken fried rice and chicken sticks and it was delicious, plus they used sesame oil which really adds a great taste to the fried rice and chicken sticks.
I saw a couple of commercials for Guinness Nitro IPA so I decided to try it this weekend. It looks like chocolate milk when you first pour it into a glass and slowly becomes a dark amber. The IBU rating was 44, but had a strong bitter flavor of hops. There's also what looks like a ping pong ball in the can that puts nitrogen in the beer when you open it http://www2.guinness.com/en-us/guinness-nitro-ipa.html
We have a few strip malls like that in town. Not just Chinese but any cuisine. No matter what opens up in them, within less than a year they are bye-bye baby.
I bought a single of the Guinness Nitro IPA to give it a taste. Pretty good -- something different. What burns me is the 11.2 ounce can. Some other Guinness owned products (Red Stripe plus others) have switched to that amount. I don't know what the reason/excuse for that is, but it feels deceptive.
This is a very popular and traditional sweet dish and a standard in Kolkata after most heavy meals. It originated in the State of Bengali, which was split during independence by the English between Bangladesh and India. It is equally popular in both parts. It is called রসগোল্লা (Rosogolla) and literally means "round objects in sugar syrup". The ingredients are rather simple milk, buttermilk, sugar and water but making it is a definite art. McDonald’s Japan intros chocolate-covered fries http://abc7.com/food/mcdonalds-unveils-mcchoco-potato-in-japan/1166629/
@palandri: That reminds me. I should have taken a picture of it. I was at a local up-scale hamburger joint and asked for garlic fries. OH! Wow! It was as if I'd died and gone to gastronomical heaven. But those white and milk-chocolate covered fries is just another interesting take on the sweet-and-savory food craze. I've had chocolate and bacon before but my wife tried it for the first time and was immediately addicted! LOL I wonder how chocolate-covered wasabi peas would be????
Probably no better than the chocolate covered olives I tried in France. I ate a few and threw the rest away.
Dang Gummit. I was going to take a picture of the Creme Brulee I made for dessert tonight but forgot. It was delish!
Yureka! I finally made something and remembered to photo it! This video is for 3-Ingredient, white chocolate souffle cheesecake. I used this for white chocolate instead. (Yeah, I sort-of didn't have a sifter to put a nicer coat of powdered sugar on top.)
Tonight's drinking pleasure is O'Fallon Cherry Chocolate http://ofallonbrewery.com/beers/ofallon-cherry-chocolate-beer/
@JFB: "Flying Fish Brewing Co."???!!!!! Seriously? That looks dangerous to drink. I mean, it took the flesh off the fish it was so strong. LOL
