Ditto, along with the tracking emails. Only took one quick call to Moto. Luck of the draw, I guess.

Hey, guess what is now available on Moto's website? Hmmm....I guess they fixed the problems. Wow, at least I saved $30 on 2 of them!!

Edit: Different part #'s based on phone model #. My V265 takes the BDCA120, while the V710 takes the BDCA118.....etc...

    New part # is - BDCA118/120.

    Dual Desktop Charging Station - BDCA118/120 $34.99

Use as a standalone desktop charger or use with the battery charging base for dual charging capabilities (requires your Motorola phone's travel charger). Easily view charging status via phone's display or rear pocket LED. Back plate supports phone and folds down for compact storage when not in use.

Battery charging base can be detached and used in conjunction with a power supply as a battery only charger - great for traveling! Multiple inserts designed to match the contact block on the battery to the contact block on the battery charging base.

Charge your phone's battery in approximately 2-5 hours when used with your Motorola phone's travel charger (Actual charge time is dependent on travel charger).

A connector on the back of the charging unit allows for simultaneous data and power pass through and synchronization when used with data accessories.

Transform your Desktop Charging Station into a hands-free speakerphone by adding the compatible Motorola Plug-In Speaker (sold separately - works with CE bus connector phones only).

    Front Pocket Phone Compatibility: Motorola V60, V260, V265, V300, V400, V600, A630 phones.

    Rear Pocket Battery Compatibility: SNN5053, SNN5570, SNN5571, SNN5588, SNN5595, SNN5615, SNN5653, SNN5654, SNN5683, SNN5685, SNN5695, SNN5704, SNN5705, SNN5722, SNN5723, SNN5725, SNN5726, SNN5742, SNN5747, SYN0918A, SYN0926A, SYN0927A, SYN0928A, SYN1027A

Note:V66 & V70 batteries are not compatible with the Rear Pocket Battery Charger.

Anyone else get a survey call regarding their recent calls to Motorola customer service? I pretty much answered disatisfied on every question

I must have lucked out. My call was completed in about 5 minutes. The woman I spoke with was very friendly and understanding and got my replacement parts shipped right out. I'd rate this particular experience as very satisfactory.

I received a survey and the email saying my new base was in the mail. Honestly, I didn't need the dual charger but I really appreciate them sending me a second base to keep at work. Other than getting the wrong item (not that I really cared), I think they handled it pretty well.

I got my replacement charger today.

Guess what - they screwed up AGAIN... but in a different way. This time I got the full charger, front and back. But they didn't include any of the "templates" to help slide the battery into the back charging station! There's no easy way to mount the battery so it holds still against the charging pins. ARGH!

I'm going to hold off calling Motorola until I hear more back from you guys, to see if they made the same mistake with you too.

    Please post your results!

I received my order today and they messed it up again. The charger and battery adapter was the correct ones this time, but my original order was for 2 chargers and they only shipped 1 replacement. Another half an hour on the phone and they said they are shipping another replacement second day FedEx.

The battery part of the charger already had the removable "partition" mounted in it so the battery does fit tight and stays against the contacts. This part was already in the adapter and not shipped loose.

Like BangBang, I received the same email message from Motorola acknowledging their mistake and that they were shipping the correct item but get this: I received a replacement desktop charger last week as a replacement for the incorrect one they sent.

Then today I received a second "replacement" at the house. When I checked my email a little while ago, I had ANOTHER email from Motorola with ANOTHER tracking number that they were shipping a THIRD replacement desktop charger, when I only originally ordered one. What the hell are these bozos doing ?

I'm going to see how many of these they send me before they catch on. Then I'm going to send all the extras back to Motorola via the Board of Directors. If I get enough of them, maybe each Board member can have one. Maybe they will catch on to how horrible their service is. Considering each one of these is 34.99 and that they are sending these FedEx Air 2 Day this is really starting to add up.

So far, the first two chargers have included all the parts, including the inserts for the rear battery compartment.

    Cheers and Merry Christmas !

Same here. I also received my correct replacements last week, and I also have a second order (maybe 3rd?) on the way (confirmed by 2 emails today). But this time, I have 4 separate items listed in the email confirmation. So, we shall see how many 'additional' chargers I get this time (and I have no idea what the extra line items are for - maybe additional inserts)....Does anyone know the shipping address of Moto's customer service center in India? I would love to send them (on their FedEx account) the replacement chargers so they can see what these things look like!

    LOL!

However, this second email had a diff reference number. First replacement order hasnt even shipped yet since i didnt get a tracking# yet. I have no clue whats going on with Moto. :(

Just got home and found fedex left 2 boxes at my door for anyone to grab. MORONS!!!! First box had full charger and 1 insert(syn0927). Second box I found another charger and 3 diff inserts. The 0927 from the first box wasnt any good for my battery(v600). Had to use a 0918 insert from the other box. So now i have a phone charger only, 2 full chargers, and 3 extra inserts for other batteries. :)

On the 24th I got my replacements as well! I am so jazzed!! It's about time. I got six inserts and two full dual desktop charging stations!! I now have three 1/2 ones and two full ones and a sh*% load of inserts. I plan to use both of them. I've got one in my office and one in my living room. I'm thinking because they finally got thir sh*% together I might want to order another for travel.

Anyway, it was a long trip, but I finally got what I paid for and then some. I actually only order one but got two.

    Thanks Motorola!! :lmao:

After returning home from a long week of Christmas travel, I opened all my boxes from Moto and my tally stands at: 1 desktop charger sans rear pocket (my original order), a total of THREE additional desktop chargers, all with rear pockets and 2 with an extra set of 3 inserts !!!

I'm happy to have what I originally paid for but really wish I didn't have to go through the hassle.

    Happy New Year everyone !

    Cheers !

[Please note: I have moved this to a new thread on the Motorola forum, so please reply to that one instead. Thanks. MLS]

I have the basic 'spn5204a' charger (ie without the second pocket for a spare battery), which came with my A1000.

I know I can plug in the travel charger to use it as a charging station, and I can plug in the USB cable to sync with my PC, but is there any way to CHARGE it using the USB cable so that I don't have to keep swapping over the two cables?

Many thanks for any help. MLS

    Hi everyone:

I have a question about this charger. Am I correct that the charger as in the front pocket and the rear pocket is the same for all phones except there are just different inserts available for different batteries for the rear insert. Does anyone have a list of what inserts are available because I know the SYN0927A is for the V710? I'm just trying to see what inserts I'm missing as I thought it would come with all the inserts like the clock charger and I do have both a v80 and v60c(i).

That's what I'm doing now with the desktop clock charger... I have the travel charger plugging into the Motorola OEM USB cable's charging port on the side and then the USB Cable plugs into the charger so the USB cable acts like a Y cable to the charger with the computer signal and then the travel charger plugs to it as well.

I only spotted the power socket on the side of the USB cable AFTER I posted my original question - and felt a little stupid for not noticing it straight away. However, even after finding it I can't get it to work! :(

Any ideas why the power wouldn't be able to reach the phone via the USB cable as you described? Thanks. MLS

Hmm, does it work if you took out the desktop charger and just used the travel charger and the USB cable?

From what I gather, you are correct in that this desktop charger seems to be the new standard charger for all Moto phones with the rear inserts being phone-specific for each different battery type. When I received my replacement unit, there were 3 inserts included (27A for the V710, the 26A which seems to be the fit for the T720 and a 18A which looks like it MIGHT fit the V60 style battery but I don't have one to try).

Based on what's on the Moto web site, you'll (hopefully) get the correct insert when you order the charger base for the specific phone. I can't find anywhere where you can just order the inserts...and I don't feel like dealing with "Customer Service" again. :censored:

    Cheers !

No, I thought of that... looking at the USB plug, there is no metal 'clip' on the middle plastic prong. I had assumed the prongs were just connectors and it was only the three gold pins that actually mattered - maybe not? MLS

Thanks for the info. I was looking at Motorola's website and they do show three different part numbers for the charger.

BDCA118 which is for the V710 and comes with the 27A insert since I just got my BDCA118 by UPS today so that's how I know. :browani:

There is also the BDCA119 and BDCA120 which seems to be as follows:

    BDCA120 - V60, V260, V265, V300, V400, V600, A630
    BDCA119 - T720 Series, C330 TDMA & CDMA Series, V810 phones

The first post by critic already notes that the V66/V70 batteries aren't compatible with the charger but I wonder how people will charge the batteries for the C350 (CDMA/TDMA) series, E310, MPx220,T730 series, V120 series,V550 phones as I thought these were covered by the rear pocket as well.

I think it's really only the three gold pins that actually mattered but what you should do is try another charger since maybe it might be the USB Cable's charger port/internal wiring that is defective as I remember that you can hack a non-charging USB data cable by just jumpering some pins on the CE connector side and it will charge the phone.

    Resuming ancient thread...

Does anybody know where to find the SYN0927 insert for the standard desktop charging station?
I'm now sure THIS is the accessory I really need (not spn5210, not spn5211, or others...): it's the "add-on" for the standard desktop charger, and it actually costs less than 7$ (not 25, 35, 45 or more as stated on some sites!)

    SITE 1
    SITE 2

Although these pages still exist, if you search for syn0927 from the corresponding home pages you can't find it! Maybe it's discontinued?

If so, I must ask you a little help: those of you which actually purchased this insert, could kindly try to open it, and see if internal circuitry is simple enough to be easily home-made?
Being its cost under 7$, I guess the circuit is just made of some transistors and some resistors, no more!

    Thanks for your help.

The SYN0918A is available from HelloMoto.com for $4.99+S&H. This is the insert I have for my SPN5210A desktop charger, which I use with my v300, v600 & v620.

The SYN0927A/SYN0927C insert is also available for $4.99+S&H.

    Thank you very much!
Now I have still two problems:
    - how can I get this part sent, not living in USA :-(
    - how can I know if it is actually compatible with a1000 battery?

Which is the p/n of your phone battery?
Coud you kindly post the specs of your battery, together with its dimensions in mm/inches?

    Thanks in advance.

    MOTOhooligan, lemme understand...
Are SYN0918A and SYN0927A/SYN0927C inserts which you... insert in SPN5211A after attaching SPN5211A to SPN5204A?

    I mean:
    we have a front-part:

we attach to it a rear part:

Then, do we need to add something else (an "insert") in the rear part? Or is the rear part numbered SYN0918A???

Also, I cannot understand this sentence:
