Apparantly (and finally) Verizon is ready to roll out Froyo 2.2 for us Droid X users. Link below is from the Verizon web site gives information on what to expect and improvements that Froyo is supposed to do. http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/droid_x.pdf
Nice, congrats! I got to hand it to Verizon & Moto, they have been rolling out fixes and updates to their Android devices quickly.
I already downloaded Froyo to my X late last night/early this morning at 12:15 am. So far, I like it. In my opinion, the two best features so far are built-in Flash support and automatic app updates.
Yes you can force the update instead of waiting if you like. Just go to settings, about phone, check for system updates. It find and start downloading the update. Doing it now
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; DROIDX Build/VZW) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1 854X480 motorola DROIDX) We have been waiting in one long line.
In a way, I'm glad I've waited to get a new phone (still leaning heavily towards the Droid X), as by the time I get this one, it will hopefully already have the update in it. This sounds like it makes a great phone even better.
