Basically, you send TONE to 2007 and go to VZW tones. Select the tone of your choice and use 2007 as the promo code. Enjoy!

I attempted to get my free ring tone yesterday, but it never came! :(
I guess there were too many people trying to download & every time you would go into the application, the message would tell you network temporarily unavailable. Once I got in, I was able to get to a ring tone...put in my promotion code & then the network timed out. When I tried again, the automated response was that the "promotion code" was no longer valid. No text message, no ring tone.
Called VZW today...the rep said, oh, we're really sorry...that promotion ended on 12-31-06.
For the amount of time I spent on this one, I could have purchased lots of ring tones!!! WOW...the things you do to try & save $2.99.
    Happy New Year to all!!
    Here's to a prosperous 2007.

I got the same error message that you got. I"m sure there were way too many people trying to access it and Verizon's servers could not handle it. All this was, was a promotion to get customers hooked and interested in ringtones so they would buy more after it's not free anymore. ;)

I don't think that the offering of one free ringtone is going to convince people to buy more who never bought any in the first place.

Certainly not convince, but make them try it out for once because they find it interesting and they may keep doing it...
