...do you have to bring the phone back in the original packaging? I haven't sent in the $100 rebate yet, and I'm worried that since the UPC listed on my receipt won't match the one sent in from the new box, they won't mail me a rebate check. From what I understand, you can't take your phone back once you remove the UPC. Thanks!
I mailed my rebate form and old phone to Verizon on Oct. 2, 2002. That was about a week after I had bought the T720. A couple of weeks later, I exchanged that original phone for one with the newer firmware (19c) When I exchanged the phone, they didn't ask me for any of the package (UPC code) for the original phone. I was surprised at how quickly I received my $100 check. It came directly from Verizon (Not rebates.com like so many rebates these days.) I got my check in less than 5 weeks.
My T720 has a little bit of play in the hinge, I'd like to take it back and have it exchanged within the 15 days. Are you saying you just need to bring the phone to exchange?
I got my phone swapped earlier tonight. All I did was hand them my T720, and in exchange, I get a replacement phone (with the new firmware - 19c) and a free battery. No questions asked. It's a bit of a hassle to have to go back to the store and have the phones replaced, but I guess that's why they tossed in the extra battery. The only bad thing was, that whatever they use to flash the phone numbers into the new phone, was broken, so I'll have to type those back in. All in all, I'm happy. KMHPaladin: Not sure if that applies to the 15 day return policy when you're just exchanging the same model phone. I'd bring the receipt and box, just in case.
I took mine back just a few days ago. I have only had it for about 3weeks if not a month. They did not ask for the old box back or a reciept, just a list of the problems. The only problem was that there were out of the free batteries so the tech said he would pin a note in the back and call me when they were in. Other than that no hassles except for waiting for the phones num, bers to change phones.
