Fans of the show should remember Don S. Davis who played General George Hammond. On June 29, 2008, he passed away of a major heart attack. He did suffer health issues which is the reason why he left as a main character for the show. He had to reduce his work load. He will be missed. He was a great actor and his character was great.
Rest in peace General. I saw Amanda Tapping is getting her own show and will be leaving Atlantis. Woolsey will be taking over to lead Atlantis--I'm not sure about that. I think Hammond was the best leader on a Stargate show. Weir annoyed me too much.
