That makes sense on why they moved the belt, trying the cheap way out. We don't have a closed track or skidpad around here, the closest think is Raceway Park in Englishtown NJ. I have taken it out on Interstate 78 & the GSP and haven't been able to get it past 130 due to the traffic, I would love to take it on some courses & have tried out the brakes in parking lots amongst other things.
Bring it over to the Rock Falls Raceway in Eau Claire, WI. Buickman & I will meet you there with our cars. Buickman, nice real nice.
I will put in the request to drive out there on Monday with the Chief, they need to do a few minor repairs to make it long trip worthy & I will be there to race you both.
Don't feel bad Tom, flat out my car is only about 120. I love my car but Chevy dropped the ball with the Monte Carlo SS. They should all be supercharged or have V-8's and not weigh 4400lbs.,now mind you my car is still no slouch the 3.8 does perform well. But I call my Chevy a Buick in wolfs clothes. I would like to soup it up next year but I also don't want to kill the reliabilty of it either.
LOL, 130 due to traffic... I do know someone who claimed to burry the needle in our 86 caprice (155+ mph!). I just thought that was just too fast on the type of roads we had. Our squad was a rural squad and most of our area was 2 lane backroads. -Jay
