Doesn't it work with Windows too? I usually keep my taskbar at the bottom, although on a couple of computers of mine its on the top.

I prefer mine at the bottom. It just seems easier there with the task bar at the top.

Of course everyone has a preference. My rationale for keeping it on the right side is that on the bottom I think it takes up too much screen real estate. Of course having it on the side messes with the "opacity" when they switched to Leopard and changed the dock. When I was running Winderz however I kept the task bar at the bottom. It should be interesting to see how it all works out with Win7 when it gets released as a release version.

Sure, I was just being specific to the Mac OS. When I used a Win machine I tried putting the task bar at the side, but just didn't care for it.

It bugs the hell out of me if its on the side. Sometimes one of my cahsiers will move it on one of the counter computers.

Like everything else in life people have their own preferences in lots of things. Some people like rap music while me personally I think there needs to be a c in front of it, but as in all things different strokes for different folks.

Yeah, but when they switch stuff around they forget that the computers are MINE! I've considered setting it up so that the cashiers used a separate user account on WIndows so that they can't make any system changes.

I used to keep it on the bottom, the OSX default. Recently I changed to the left side, because with a widescreen monitor, I feel like I have extra pixels on the sides, but I want all the screen real estate I can get, top-to-bottom. Also, the main menu bar (which Windows doesn't have) and window borders/controls already take up a lot of vertical space.

My wife has hers on the right side, which is obviously incorrect.
