So, i was at a festival last night.
I was with a couple friends when all this sudden there was a TON of smoke.
We stood up and saw that all the fireworks had caught on fire.
We got as close and we could and it got really loud since the fireworks were still going off.
Ive never seen fireworks catch on fire.

But heres a picture, sorry its not very big. I had to zoom in as far as i could. Its also only a small portion of hte fire.

Wow, where did this happen? I didn't see anything about it on the normal sites that I get fire reports from.
I just was at a seminar on fireworks safety, last week & it doesn't take much for a problem to happen.

Oh wow. Sorry for the late reply I didn't see that anyone did infact reply..

But in responses to your replies....

    It happened in Fitchburg, WI

They I think had it under control the whole time, they just took a long time to get it out. Maybe they wanted to let the fireworks finish before before putting them out so they don't go to waste?

About 7 yrs ago this happened in Harvey Cedars, LBI, NJ.
A fireman lost fingers, etc. Emergency staff couldn't get there because of limited access. Boats came ashore, EMT's were borrowing bicycles, etc. to get to the scene. It was horrific. Smoke everywhere.

If you are talking about the fire no it is not. There have been so many fires here this season it is not even funny. When a whole town has to be evacuated because of something simple as a firework then the fun does go away. I will never forget the look on peoples faces who know that their house and belongings are lost.

I had a friend who lost 2 and 1/2 of his fingers because of this. It was a horrible ordeal to think he lost that for FIREWORKS of all things...

This year at the firework display we go to every year, they had alot of them not go high enough or tip when they went off... it was quite scary, I imagine for the guys doing it.

It can be scary when they have problems with the fireworks, I was 10' away from them lighting them off this year (& last) but this year due to the rain it seemed they had more issues with them lighting and you kind of just hope nothing happens.

It is not a good thng to see when they go bad, too many people can get seriously hurt or killed & when they don't go high enough the fallout can be a serious problem for the crowd.
We stopped a show once because of this problem, the crowd wasn't happy but hey they lived to see another show.

    Wow.
I remember I think it was about 5 years ago, a firework didn't go off and the man who was running the fireworks made the mistake of going and looking at it. Well, the firework did go off and it blew off his head along with it. :( Worst part was that all his family was within 10' of the scene so they saw EVERYTHING. Of course after it happened they stopped the fireworks for the night and everything. I believe this happened in the Madison, WI area (Incase anyone wants to check some records :)).

I too have almost had my hand blown off by a fire cracker not going off. It didn't light and so I just kept holding it. Next thing I know everyone I'm around is yelling at me to throw it down because it was lit and about to go off. That was one the scariest moments in my life. I won't forget it.
