Fcc Mandate Prohibits Activation Of Non Gps Phones - Even Existing Accounts

    Guess what everybody? VZW just changed my account in order to comply. I just tried activating my spare Motorola 7868 Startac, and it did not allow me to do it. Fortunately, I think I can still do it at work, since I have a lot of system access privleges there. I can actually view VZW's street level coverage maps to within a few feet accuracy.

    Fun stuff, all used responsibly of course. Its amazing what they give us in there. Makes me wonder why some CS reps are so ignorant.

    Interesting; because (check my post of 7/28) They DID activate a FRU,
    (Factory refirb) for me. also offered to do so at c/s #.
