Found this article on the problem of phones exploding because of battery issues....scary!! :speechles http://apnews.excite.com/article/20041124/D86HSV881.html
It seems to all come back to aftermarket batteries, with the small exception of Kyrocia's 1st recall, it may cost more but i always try to stick with OEM parts, just for these reason's.
"If you're cramming more and more power in a small space, what you're making is a small bomb," said Carl Hilliard, president of the California-based Wireless Consumers Alliance, which has been tracking incidents of cell phone fires and explosions. Well, that's a bit extreme... "a small bomb," let's not let this get out of hand. It's a problem but if you don't purchase non-OEM parts the odds of this happening are extremely, extremely small.
Why is it that when something relatively new has dangers, people jump all over it, but something that's been around a long time that is statistically more dangerous is ignored? Let's face it you're more likely to be hurt by a car than a cell phone battery. Heck, you're probably more likely to be hurt by your weed whacker.
Probably because we don't expect our mobile phones to explode. With cars and weedwackers, you know if you are not careful, they could kill. People aren't waiting for their phone to blow-up in their hands, or pockets, purses, etc. Inherent dangers are a given, hidden dangers are waiting to be known, unfortunately...
