I live in an area that the map specifies as simple 1x...........

i live 1 mile from the edge of an EV-DO covered area.......and the area where i live is hilly.....its PA you know.....

is it possible that Sprint has put in towers and not updated the map yet?

just so you know......i get full bars.......with EV-DO in my house but like i said im a good mile from any EV-DO covered area

It all depends on what tower you're locking on to. If you can lock on to it and it's EVDO you'll get it. The maps online are not 100% accurate when it comes to EVDO.

so your saying that the map is probably inaccurate........now it says that i get ery good 1x but im getting full bars with this EV signal.....is it possible that they have put up a new tower and haven't registered it in the system yet

which leads to another question.......how long is it before the map is updated after a new tower is added or upgraded?

Two things, first is that in most telcom companies the marketing department and operations department never seem to talk to each other so information is always delayed. Second is that Sprint has been turning up hundreds of EVDO sites a week nationwide so the maps will be outdated just be the sheer amount of expansion that is going on. Combine that with part number one and.... you get outdated maps.
