The maps now show a much wider area that will be getting high speed data in the future: http://www.sprint.com/business/products/products/evdoCoverage2.jsp
Awesome. It is great to see that High-Speed DATA is on it's way to more areas, including areas outisde of major metro areas.
Oh wow, HUGE updates for the western new york area. I was just looking at all of these maps yesterday too! All of the Metro NY area, including all of LI will be covered as well!
Still no future EVDO coverage from Sprint showing up in my area. As of right now my area doesn't have EVDO from Sprint or Verizon and it doesn't look like we'll get it anytime soon from either.
Doesn't Verizon have Laughlin EVDO? I think I remembered that from going through there last time. At least you have some sort of high speed wireless there already.
Definately not, that type of coverage is even way behind EVDO. So far the fastest wireless data we have in my area would be CDMA 1X I suppose. Hopefully Verizon in the near future will have EVDO coverage in my area but I'm not counting on it anytime really soon.
Yeah, they dont even have NYC covered yet. Here in Buffalo, its Sprint or bust. They have done a great job around here with EV-DO, and by the looks of those maps are ready to expand in every direction, even as far east down the Thruway (I-90) to almost Syracuse!
Yes their is, but with no native coverage on the AZ side(except for bleed over) Verizon isn't the greatest choice around here. I would like to know how they are able to sell service for Bullhead on their site?
Woooohooo, where my campgrounds is will have EVDO soon, thats awesome. I have both a Verizon and Sprint EVDO card and the speeds have been about the same, but right now I think Sprint has the edge in coverage, and with those maps, will be way ahead.
Good question. I think BillRadio once answered that for me, but I don't remember. My best guess is the spill over covereage is good enough.
I hope that isn't the reason. I have heard too many complaints from Verizon customers here, this including my co-worker. Where's that EV icon!?!?
Lol, I hope that isn't the reason too I haven't been to Bullhead in a while to exactly remember the coverage scenario, but Verizon native should be in Laughlin, and Extended Network coverage in Bullhead city and surrounding areas should be provided by Mohave Wireless. What is your friend complaining about exactly?
Basicly she (& many visitors I talk too) can't make or recieve calls without some problems. I think this is because of being on the fringe of two networks. The phone dosn't know where it should camp out do to ever changing RF levels.
