Just bought a new phone, I've been tired of the Sony Xperia XA's issues... Since the update to Android 7 my proximity sensor has been broken, so I can't access the screen while in a call. So, after much shopping, I decided on the Essential PH-1. Purchased from Amazon Prime for $449 with free next day delivery. So far I like it a lot. Large, (but not too large), and it fits in my hand comfortably. I like the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, I find that just picking up the phone I touch the sensor and it automatically unlocks. One of the big pluses to me was that the phone comes with no preinstalled software. It always bothered me... New phone comes with a bunch of software that I'll never use, and can't delete. The screen has a beautiful picture. Watched some TV on the SlingTV app, and the resolution and color is fantastic. Also, the sound from the built in speaker is robust. (On my old Xperia, you could barely hear the external speaker with the volume all the way up if there was any background noise at all) The cons so far... No memory card slot, but it does have 128GB of internal memory, so... I'll let that slide. Also, no headphone jack, you have to use a dongle plugged into the USB port, so you can't charge and use the port at the same time. I'll have to buy a charge and audio adapter so I can plug it into the aux input in my car. I'll keep everyone posted as I get more experience with the phone.
